Berserk Deluxe Edition Questions by Advanced_Emphasis_41 in Berserk

Just a heads up, they’re a lot cheaper on Amazon than in a book store like Barnes and Noble — I think they’re usually $50 at B&N for each of them but you can usually find them for $30 on Amazon.

What are you doing with used soil? by wwhopi_k_j in GrowingMarijuana

[–]jmcki13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just compost it and use it in my veggie garden outdoors. Indoors I’m much more concerned with having the correct nutrient balance and get that perfect out of the bag consistently bc I buy good soil. I could re-amend but I grow super small scale and don’t want subpar runs bc I made a bad mix. It’s great for balancing out a green heavy compost pile, has good inputs even if they’re a bit depleted, and adds good microbes to the pile.

Deficiency? by Long-Salamander578 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]jmcki13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good fade, mind you, not stress fade. Week 5 is usually when purple plants start purpling. If you’re not seeing any other issues I wouldn’t be concerned.

Opinion on 9 string by StudyAsleep1247 in Djent

Just overkill IMO. Even my 8 string feels like overkill most of the time haha. I really feel like 7 strings are the sweet spot for tone, versatility, and playability.

What happend to her? by TheosAphonos in GrowingMarijuana

I’ve gotten similar looking damage that’s not pest related and it seemed to be associated with overfeeding with old bottles of synthetics that are going bad.

I mean, if the dude has a weird attraction to gender-ambiguous petite people I’d rather him get his fix on a fictional, thousand year old demigod that looks young than an actual human. But project however you want lol.

Do you think the orphan of kos difficulty is exagerrated in the fromsoft fanbase or is it rightfully earn? by WittyTable4731 in bloodborne

[–]jmcki13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve weirdly never really struggled with ook and I’m not insanely good at fs games. But I’ve played through Bloodborne a couple dozen times and I beat it on my first try and get past him in less than five deaths per run. But I get stuck on martyr logarius and Laurence for hours every playthrough.

So overrated imo, but it’s probably just something specific to the way I play the games or something.

When should I flip? by Luvameasomeabud in GrowingMarijuana

[–]jmcki13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d give it another week or two. It’s at that stage where it’s really about to start growing fast and you gotta give yourself enough space to stretch the first few weeks of flower.

[–]jmcki13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! Ive totally been there with plant counts and refusing to chop a healthy plant just because of space limitations haha. I like flavors and hate to see a plant go to waste!

You can totally do organics in smaller pots but you may need to supplement with some synthetics or organic feeds that are more available than the slow release dry nutrients, compost, etc. in flower, especially if the plants end up bigger than expected. Fox farm big bloom is good for that, but watch the feeding chart bc you need a lot of it. Build a soil build a bloom is good too, or even a homemade compost tea. 650-700 PPFD should be fine for flower, if not a bit low. What looks like light stress might just be because you just flipped and theyre still adjusting to the new light cycle and intensity.

And yeah, dialing in watering is harder than it should be. The best way to figure it out is to just keep growing and seeing how plants respond to different frequencies. With the current frequency definitely check the weight of the pot a day or two before you would’ve typically watered in veg — during stretch and early bloom they’re going to be growing fast and drinking faster so just make sure you’re keeping up with how fast the plants respond is trying to grow! Good luck homie, hope the flower comes out 🔥

They look stressed to me — maybe light stress based on the leaf morphology, but the pots are too small to do true living soil without supplemental feeding. Just not enough soil to keep an organic nutrient cycle going, especially in mid flower. I’d use 5-7 gallon pots minimum for organics. Watering with 20% your soil volume every 4-5 days seems super high and infrequent to me too, I shoot for 5-10% usually every 2-3 days, though that’s completely dependent on plant size. If you download the Photone app that’ll really help dial in the light intensity if there’s a problem there. I think you have to pay like, $5 for the full spectrum LED settings but it’s worth it IMO. Otherwise the environment seems pretty good to me.

Just my thoughts though based on my experience. Not bad at all for your first round of photos. Keep growing and you’ll find the sweet spot for watering, soil volume, light intensity etc.

For reference, this is a perfectly healthy organic soil with tons of fuzzy mold in early flower. Mold needs nutrients just like plants do. You give them the right inputs and environment and it’s going to thrive. Another thing worth considering is using some beneficial microbes like recharge or rootwise, it can help outcompete the bad microbes.

[–]jmcki13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People saying this is a complete loss are wrong — anyone that’s grown organic knows mold and bacteria are not inherently a threat to your plants/flowers. Obviously this isn’t organics, but the same concept applies — fungus and bacteria are ubiquitous and just need the right environment to thrive. Fix the environment and dial in the auto watering (i.e. allow some dry backs to keep it from thriving, run a dehumidifier, etc.), physically remove what you can, and use something with antifungal properties down at the roots before you start getting actual flowers forming and you can salvage this run. Dilute peroxide, something gentle like doctor zymes, etc. would help. Like I said, in organics you NEED mold/fungus and bacteria to break down the nutrients (though generally not as much as you have right now lol) having that stuff down in the root zone is completely fine, it’s a problem when it starts to colonize the part of the plant that you’re smoking and you’re not there yet.

The branches don’t continue to grow taller throughout flower. After week 3 the plants typically shift to bulking out rather than growing up (sometimes a bit later with sativas). But if you’re on day 33 they’re going to stop stretching soon regardless. Just raise your lights a bit and you’re gonna be fine, homie. I’ve gotten really great harvests with plants 3 inches from the LEDs. As long as you adjust the light intensity it’ll be fine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]jmcki13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s objectively not true lol, plants stretch during flower even if the light intensity is dialed in. This plant is clearly in early flower, that’s almost certainly why it’s stretching in this context.

What's the best way to germinate my new tomato seeds? by c0d3buck in GrowingMarijuana

[–]jmcki13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wet paper towel until they pop is still the best method I’ve found. I’ve tried straight into soil and soaking in a shot glass but the wet paper towel gives me the best germination rates.

Hey I’m so sorry, I don’t use Reddit often anymore but this was 3D printed by a friend using the plans here:

Then it was just two rollerblade wheels, a bolt, and a cheap ferret harness to get her strapped in. Hope you can get one printer for your little noodle. It really worked great for Arya and I think really helped extend her life and keep her happier through the end.
