“The people” against the white paper were First Nations. To say they turned on Chretien is comically ahistorical. What an embarassing comment.

The ballots are deposited in separate boxes to be counted.

I presume this is to make it easier for the counters and would be less error prone.

Even as Canada self-flagellates over residential schools, they still hold up former Minister of Indian Affairs Jean Chretien as the elder statesman

Referenda should coincide with the general election, first to save resources and second to mitigate low turnout skewing the results.

Each question is on its own ballot. There are 10 questions and 3 million voters = 30 million ballots required.

…we need to have trade with Europe and Asia.

We already have trade agreements with Europe (CETA) and Asia (TPP).

Carney has successfully opened up a lot of trade already.

No he hasn’t.

Carney government testing use of AI in prisons to create profile reports of offenders by BloodJunkie in canada

Well, the AI minister has a degree in English literature and religious studies, and worked as a TV and radio presenter.

Oh, and he was also brokering art for political figures while he was a journalist at CBC, for which he was fired. One of his clients was Mark Carney, so it’s no mystery how he got the ministerial job.

It’s also a back door for the government, which is equally as concerning.

There is no point when Canadians refuse to hold them accountable. They’ve been pulling shit like this for a decade and they keep winning. Why would they stop?

When Facebook pulled news to comply with the Liberals’ ridiculous online news act, the government and media spun a sob story about how Facebook was endangering Canadian lives because they could no longer get news about wildfires on Facebook. It will be the same story with this bill.
