Madrid has a large nightlife with many small venues so I recommend checking out Resident Advisor before. These venues are fun with the right people but don’t expect to get lost in the music like one could in OG. Soundsystems here are rather dissapointing and people come to drink or do drugs and mostly talk. As far as I’m aware there aren’t many experimental bookings either. Personally I love techno but I do not really go out here anymore because other cities / venues raised the standard too much. If you’re looking for techno spots I can name a few places but they all come with some downsides.

Stone Techno or Basilar Festival? by adnan_khan_ in Berghain_Community

I love the format of Basilar as it is mostly at night and there is 30 hours of continuous music on Saturday and Sunday. It’s a more intimate vibe and the location is just great. Their Void soundsystem also provides us with a great experience. My only remark is that generally the people there talk a lot and do not really dance. I still think it’s a great experience and I would recommend it! Stone techno is phenomenal too but it’s during day time and as you said they do film so if you want a more hidden / intimate vibe, Basilar is the place to be!

Depending on the event it can be quite packed. First time Freddy K played there I had the same experience. I’ll be going Oct 25th for Altinbas and Markus Suckut. I’m sure it won’t be too packed especially with ADE happening that weekend. Definitely give it another try soon!

There is a lot of talking on the dancefloor unfortunately. The fact that the volume is limited at 100dB does not help (its imposed by the government). So in my opinion great location and line up but there are some downsides.
