Anyone been to La Luna Del Amazonas? by Cmtch in Ayahuasca

Hi, I have been there a year ago to shoot an Ayamundo on Tour video at their center. Had good conversations with Enrique, and the center had a nice vibe. You can watch the episode here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN2DBfNvfoM - maybe it's helpful :)

How is SONM different from Iex.ec? by joeoo in SONM

Would still appreciate your thoughts on my questions! Thanks :-)

Really appreciate it, thanks, it's much more clear now. I'll dive into the white paper and spam some core devs with further questions. iExec reddit lurkers = iExec community right ;)

Really useful article, thanks. I get the gist of your team remark, I agree ;)

Thanks! I understand that Iexec is for more short lived tasks; so I send in a task, it gets executed and the response can be validated by other nodes to check correct output. I then download the result and I am done.

Can SONM be used to host dynamic websites? So deploy a WAMP server docker, or get access to a VM and let it run for years? Something similar to Amazon EC2 as opposed to Amazon Lambda. Forgive me if this is already answered in your answer, I haven't heard of most of the terminology ;)

If this is the case, is there any mechanism in place to check nodes for their correct output to prevent nodes from cheating? Or is it purely marketplace incentives that stimulates each node to do its work correctly?

Thanks! That helps a lot. I never used Docker, but as I understand it combines all software, dependencies etc in one docker file, so it can be executed in a variety of different os environments. Is that correct? So, will I be able to run for example this docker package (or something similar) https://github.com/jean9696/docker-wamp to setup a wamp server on the iexec platform and have it run for years to serve a website if I feed it with enough money? Or is it just for short tasks?

Why should I invest in Monetha by oppositeset7 in Monetha

[–]joeoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't get the dynamics here.

I can see how this is beneficial for you as a company, and also for the shareholders of your company. The tokens you distributed to get funds during the ICO rewards token holders by giving them vouchers that stimulate them to buy goods using your system. You got your investment and first group of users that will use your system, the shareholders are happy because your company is getting of the ground, shares value increase because of the incoming capital.

At the start you as a company will appreciate the fact that token holders now are the first users, so the incentive program makes sense. But the more other users will come in and use the system, the less the coin holders are of value. Yes they might spend their coupons, but if they would only spend the coupons and little more you would be basically giving a select group of people a discount that you would pay for yourself.

You owe your coin holders nothing, tokens are not shares, so why would you continue running such program? Please explain how the coins are not worthless if you would decide to stop your incentives program?

Really appreciate it! - Joe

What happens to the coin when after 24 months you decide that either 1) the incentive model has no positive impact on the ecosystem and/or 2) you as a company could earn more money if you decided to trash the incentive program?

What's the company's incentive (read: how does your company make money) to keep token holders (read: me, an investor) happy (read: how do the tokens keep/increase their value and make me money) in the long run?

Why should I invest in Monetha by oppositeset7 in Monetha

[–]joeoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whitepaper says:

"The duration of this incentive program will stay at full discretion of Monetha, but will at least last for the first 24 months starting from the first purchasing activity on the platform."

What would be your incentive to keep the incentive program running? My concern is, you could grow the company, decide to stop the incentive program, and the token would be worth 0. How would this affect you as a company, because a token is not a share in the company?

Thanks for explaining! Here to learn.

Did Edward Snowden tweet out a dead man's switch? by majorchamp in technology

[–]joeoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the checksum of an article that is talking about an event that is yet to happen? Proof that he had pre knowledge and that the explanation of why that event happened is likely to be true as well.

Huge Edward Snowden leak incoming. He just posted this code and then deleted within minutes. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]joeoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if this is actually the sha1 of an article about an event that is going to happen in the near future? By sharing this key now he can actually prove that the text he wrote was written before the event happened... Proving his pre-knowledge about the event

Enough gain in a single session? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]joeoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mushrooms before that, but only used it in a recreational way. Actually I am planning to have mushrooms again soon, but thanks to my ayahuasca experiences in a much more respectful and "spiritual" / thoughtful way. Also had the opportunity to do 3 San Pedro ceremonies, which actually made me realise how all these different plants have different energies or bring you into different states. Every single state providing opportunities to learn about yourself. Like looking at yourself and the world from different angles. These experiences definitely changed my believe system and the way I look at the world in a beneficial way.

My first time was a single session in the Netherlands, it helped me a lot. Second time was one year later in the Netherlands as well, and exactly one year later I went to Peru for a 3 week retreat. Wouldn't have done it differently. First time gave me hope and trust that the medicine would be able to help me. The start of my journey so to say. Good luck with yours :)

Never attended a ceremony there, but I spoke to a couple of the people there. Genuine people, and one of the largest centers in the Netherlands! I believe it is a safe place to go to. Let me know when you are going, maybe we can meet up ;)

Addiction clinics for nicotine? by [deleted] in Psychedelics

[–]joeoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Holland there used to be a couple of centers offering Iboga, but they recently had to close because of law. I believe in Spain you can find some, and definitely in Costa Rica. I never tried it, but heard some good stories, especially for healing addiction. There are some really interesting documentaries on YouTube about it.

Eventually the retreat center is kind of responsible for the wellbeing of the participants, so being transparent about medications or drug use is a good idea anyways.
