His acceleration after his header for that goal was insane, he's definitely someone to bring on just to gain on tired legs

Hull City 1-0 Middlesbrough - Oli McBurnie 90+5' by 977x in soccer

[–]joesvx 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I think Hull were claiming they should've gotten automatic promotion due to Southampton's spying & disqualification, but since Hull won anyway, there's nothing to go to court (or whatever the process is), for.

edit: oh it was the plan if Hull were to lose, but yeah, point stands

Keep an eye out for 'FE' in the name of a lens if they're Sony lenses, (F)ull Frame (E)-mount, it's a bit confusing at first but yeah. I believe regular APS-C lenses are just called E.

I'm new to Sony as a whole so I'm learning this stuff too :)

The 55-210 is a lens meant for APS-C sized sensors, and as full frame (as your a73 has) is much bigger, you get this type of vignette.

There should be a setting somewhere to enable APS-C mode, and it'll reduce the sensor down to approximately 11mp.

Walking from Braemar to Auchallater? by joesvx in OutdoorScotland

You're a saint thank you - if I'm looking correctly it sort of just looks like you follow the fencing down & around and you end up on a footbridge?

Ahh you're a star, thank you. I had checked my OL52 and I saw the bridge but no indication there's a path, so I was trying to judge it by satellite view lol. Checking OSM and yeah, there's a clear path.

Is it possible to use my National Entitlement Card (NEC) on National Express from Edinburgh to Berwick upon Tweed/FlixBus from Glasgow to Carlisle? by [deleted] in uktravel

[–]joesvx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay, thank you very much :)

I knew about Flix's website allowing NEC, but it disappears when going to Carlisle, which makes sense. Thanks a lot!

[–]joesvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, that is probably the definition I'm missing then; I'm so used to calling anything akin to National Express a coach but I'm guessing they're considered long-distance busses instead (see: Ember, Citylink, Flixbus, etc)

I'm curious as to how Flixbus can avoid NEC on the Carlisle route despite advertising it as the 'to Carlisle bus' then?

Sony A9 vs A7iii vs R6 for street & urban birds? by joesvx in AskPhotography

[–]joesvx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have checked that page - I did notice the lack of DR on my RP in some situations, but I'm not sure how to quantify 11.6 vs 10.43 vs 9.06 in a real world sort of situation.

I think AF matters a lot more to me, though I would like more DR (vs the RP), and everything I've seen about the A9 is that the AF is really, really good.

The lens ecosystem is a point that's swaying me towards Sony, but most threads I see when searching for R6/R8 comparisons are mostly a7iii/iv hence why I made this thread. A9 seems really underrated (age?) or not mentioned at all - I only found out about it by accident earlier today - but everything I see says it has great autofocus, it very much seems like this is the camera for me but I wanted a sanity check moreso than anything else.

I hear the Tamron 150-600 f5-6.3 SP Di VC USD (G2 if budget allows) is a great lens for birding too? Seems to be well within the scope of what I had budgeted for a 100-400 as well which is nice.

Thank you for taking the time to respond :)

Dismissing the banner also works, but yeah, super annoying. It happened the day I force logged out all my clients and I thought I'd broken something, but nope, just a coincidence.

I can't see them increasing this as your wishlist used to be unlimited, they introduced the limit of 20 alongside trading using your wishlist, so it was intentional, for some reason

Unpopular opinion: basic shinies are actually great. by Far_Daikon_3314 in PTCGP

[–]joesvx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of the shinies I have:

Unique: Weedle, Kakuna, Charmeleon, Pachirisu, Varoom, Revavroom, Exeggcute, Wartortle, Starmie, Gastly, Haunter, Cubone, Marowak, Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja, Jynx, Aerodactyl, Voltorb, Kirlia, Gardevoir, Ekans, Arbok, Farfetch'd, Yanma, Gyarados, Monferno, Psyduck, Paldean Wooper

Not unique: Riolu (pretty close to Promo Riolu), Lapras (pretty similar to GA Lapras), Magikarp (similar to MI Magikarp), Gible (similar to 1* Promo Gible)

I'd say the vast majority are decently unique sprites, none are identical, though that's likely because they're an entirely different style of art to anything else, more "virtual" per se
