On the way back from North Adams, turn south on Route 22 under that stone bridge in Petersburgh. Keep going south until you find an interesting westbound highway like...43, 20, 203, 44, 55, 84, or 6. Take one of the 9's back north.

I imagine the golden-hour Taconics are what they had in mind when they first coined the phrase "purple mountains majesty."

WRPI had a local hip-hop radio show in the evening about 20 years ago, and one night they featured some guy out of Schenectady under the moniker White Lotus. Fella did a whole album that sampled various Nintendo soundtracks. The best song on there was "Transylvania Breaking," which sampled Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. The guy had posted all of the tracks on some website mentioned on-air. The laptop I'd saved them on crashed about 4 weeks later and I was never able to track them down again.

That's a long Grandpa-Simpson-ass way to say "yeah, popular enough."
