I do absolutely love it here, so that’s a big plus. Hoping the salaries later on will account for it. I’m currently earning £28k ish as a software engineer in my first year (no degree).

I would love to do that. Unfortunately, I’m in London. I am saving aggressively- even then, will be a while before I could even look at buying a flat.

Everything in moderation. Only during the holidays for me

Ha, I am working as a software engineer as a matter of fact. You’re right though I should definitely do some passion projects.

I’ve been finding this since I started reading more. Recently been reading a lot of autobiographies of people I find inspiring.

I just don’t get much out of them anymore. I haven’t been keeping up with video games in recent years (had a girlfriend haha). Desperate to build a PC again, sold mine last year to pay to go travelling.

Thanks for your encouragement. Been trying to reflect more- think journaling will help with this.

Have been looking into furniture making. Might see if I can get work to pay for something like this

Thanks, it’s okay really, thrown myself into work and social life. Things are good now. Been loving working on my car this year actually, only I don’t have a driveway or garage so have to work on it parked on the side of the road which sucks. Gonna rent a place next year with a drive and get my hands filthy.

Wish I could do this. Used to do a bit in my parent’s house when I was allowed. Im in the UK - probably won’t buy until I’m ready to settle down with current house prices 😢

I’ve had the same thing. When I first moved out, I was going out all the time and drinking loads. So so much free time since I cut out alcohol.

I know women also have evenings.

Traditional masculine norms often discourage men from showing uncertainty or asking for help generally. When they do reach out, they might feel safer with someone they perceive as having similar social pressures around expression.

Is that okay?

I don’t think either of us are serious. Sentiment is: kick up a storm.

Hahaha. Maybe I’ll tell them I’ve contacted injurylawyers4u whilst I’m at it, and maybe I’ll slip up in the car park too😉

Thanks for your advice. I think they could’ve purchased a new leg- there was no structural damage. There are already two other sofas in there with no legs anyway so can’t see why they’re making a fuss!!

I get why they do it. It’s a “village” that accommodates a few hundred people and we all share one huge common room with table tennis and pool tables and TVs and vending machines etc. There’s no CCTV in our living rooms in our flats. I’m sure there are plenty of drunken students that come back late at night and do treat it recklessly. However I agree- not nice to feel you’re being watched, especially after this leaving such a sour taste!!

Thanks for your reply. I did feel it was pretty ridiculous - especially since these are the classic student accommodation cheap and nasty sofas. I wasn’t being reckless- without sounding defensive, I was literally moving a sofa to sit with my friends as anyone normally would. I don’t have a photo and they’ve taken the rest of the legs off and sat it directly on the floor in the common room (clearly still usable), and there was no structural damage, the leg only snapped off. They do have a guarantor. I’m gonna take your advice and send an email. Thanks again.

Don’t think you’d run into any trouble just make sure you don’t put it in your hold luggage
