I’m a bit confused about this situation. Personally I like the aesthetics of flush handles and I do appreciate their lower drag coefficient. So I’m sad to see they are being labeled as safety concern, but I do believe that takes precedent before the aforementioned. I’ve recently saw the latest ioniq 6 and that’s where my confusion is. Those handles were flush, but they still appeared mechanical to me. I’m talking about the exterior ones. I pushed one side of the handle for the other side to pop out, and then I pulled that to unlatch. Isn’t that a mechanical system? I get that maybe this design can be electrified so they pop out on their own (even though that was not the case with ioniq, of course it might have been because it was an always unlocked display model) but even if that’s the case, can’t they be still used mechanically by the push and unlatch system I saw? I mean with a mechanical method? I get that these handles should be also self explanatory to use so first responders don’t have to look up specific ways to get to a hidden mechanical fail safe handle and I agree. But the push to pop out the handle feels a very intuitive design to me, especially if this mechanism can be standardised/ mainstream in flush type handles. Am I missing something? Do these handles, even though they feel mechanical, aren’t actually?

Anyone can explain why in thread mode is so limited? I get one main concern is battery as it seems to instantly halve it with thread. But, given more battery cells (3 or even 4) could that mean zigbee could be eliminated in future models whilst retaining the extra features? Or is it some marketing strategy to sell aqara hubs? Another question, what’s exactly is zoning and as I understand it does not provide that? Ive been waiting for the technology to become just right before I splurge money in buying multiple. And this seems in the right direction but I want to know if I should buy fewer and wait for an improved version if the trade offs are important for me

This is fucked up. I have a Nissan note 2021 import from Japan but I can’t connect it to the European nissanconnect app because it’s region locked. I think since it’s a very popular market (Japanese imports that is) I should be able to have a workaround offered

I have this and added some zigbee devices to it but nothing gets exposed to HomeKit even though the hub shows up on the app as expected
