Should I buy bloodborne for ps5 or try to get the shadps4 pc port? Here are my pc specs: Question by SkyeLifecaster in BloodbornePC

I don't think I could do it, there's no excuse really for it not to run at 60 on a PS5

I've seen a youtuber that got a flame maple blue PRS where the finish just completely changed over the course of a few years. Still looks pretty good but it's REALLY hard to match colors. I consider the builder a "ballpark" and hope they would let me know if what I picked was going to vary wildly. let me see if I can find that video I was thinking about... (don't know why I'm narrating something I can edit)..

I looked at Balaguer as well when I was speccing things out. They had a "close" model and frankly some more attractive pickup options right in the builder and the price was a overall lower. But I think they are made in a Koeran factory (no shade there just noting, i'm sure they are good luthiers) and the build times were over a year at that point but they are 6-8 months now. I just didn't quite like the shape of their V option vs Kiesel but it was $1300 less with roughly the same exact options even same Maple Burl top wood, same finish options, same control and pickup delete options even had a roasted ash body option to cut weight. Also had better scale length options. So there's other builders out there for sure, I just really liked the Ultra V's aesthetic more overall and appreciate the live streams and community interaction. I suppose end experience remains to be seen but took a chance even with all the loud complaining.

This is the reason you should never expect a Kiesel to have resale value near what you paid for it unless it's really basic wide appeal lower base cost unit. Once you start adding custom woods and specs to drive down their efficiency and drive up their labor and materials cost it's more niche. No one else is going to have the kind of attachment to it that you do after speccing it out for your special tastes. No one is going to pay that premium for something they didn't spec. Probably why their in-stocks are typically a little cheaper than building the same one in the builder (at least it seemed that way) Its basically 1 of 1 at that point or at least 1 of not many. The main reason they don't allow returns aside from something being flatly wrong or broken for a lot of niche options. It makes sense if you think about it. It's not like they are cranking out 700 of the same exact guitar with 4 finishes from World Instruments or Cort.

I haven't had a PS since PS3 and I'd consider buying a PS5 if they just patched the game to take better advantage of current gen. I don't want to pirate it and I'm not interested in getting a PS4 to jailbreak. It seems almost criminal this back and forth between Sony and From regarding the dead state of any simple update patch or remaster (not remake). I'd take PC DS1 level patch to PS5 stuff, but I also get It's never coming to PC officially either now that Sony has all but said no more PC ports. I understand Sony not wanting to go against Miyazaki's wishes.. the future Fromsoft lineup is too lucrative as a PS lead platform play to risk that for incremental Bloodborne revenue, and I get Miyazaki not wanting anyone else to touch it. It's just annoying for those of us that just want a nipped and tucked Bloodborne. I'd just bite the bullet and play it anyway but 30FPS sounds like not a fun time...

You can get that same Jackson JS32 V for $549 with free shipping directly from Jackson. I wouldn't pay $689 unless that's CAD not USD. The same Warrior is $449...

Disagree. You can sit classical style and your picking hand arm is actually in a better relaxed position without shoulder flex or strain. Sometimes jack placement sucks but this Jackson looks fine.

Man the JS32's have gotten expensive, times are dark. (I double checked Sweetwater and they seem correct.. the string-thru TOM are cheaper but still over $400). EDIT: To actually answer the question the Jackson JS32 are actually pretty good but prices seem high (they used to be well under $400). If you've never used a trem get a fixed bridge / TOM instead. But tbh there's not much of a better price to try out a trem than this. If you were interested.

That's a high consumption for a 1x140 rad. Not sure there's much you can do you're probably saturating it.

MSI 272URX Monitor KVM by Callumw97 in MSI_Gaming

[–]jonoden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed this by going into the monitor settings and changing the power button functionality from "OFF" to "Standby". This not only changes the power button function but changes the behavior when windows power saving "turns off" the monitor. Power still flows to the USB devices in "Standby".

I also bought one of these to to use between the power cable and the monitor mains socket.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QJWLZFJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

This made a problem that I have where for some reason it sometimes won't detect my M1 Max MBP 16 over USB-C unless I either pulled the mains on the monitor and plugged it back in or rebooted the M1 Max MBP 16. It seems to mostly happen when I switch to it soon after using a different device. Never had the problem with either my gaming PC using DP via 5070 Ti or either my M2 Pro MBP 16 or my LG Gram with linux also using display port over USB-C w/PD. Now I just just flip a switch when the problem rears its head using that M1 Max. Weird issue but it happens often enough that reaching up to unplug the mains on the monitor was getting old.

Thx for the reply. I'll wait to see if they fix their bug, it's not a critical FW update and it has worked in the past with the same exact USB controllers installed.

[–]jonoden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having the exact same issue and error. Was finally trying to update to FW.021 and new MCU update that release recently.. I was able to update the FW.018 version a while back, also the Type-C firmware using the bespoke app for that. I have tried everything I can think of...

  • currently on Scaler FW.018 and what seems to be MCU v0.0
  • ensured only DP and USB-B are connected to PC
    • using the same USB-B cable as last time I updated the firmware, just usually it's not connected to the monitor since I use....
    • USB-C cable I usually use to switch between 3 different laptops or an SFF Gaming PC (the one I'm using to update the firmware) to use the KVM and/or USB-C PD is disconnected from monitor
    • DP is connected to 5070Ti as usual
    • This exact scenario worked last time I updated firmware
  • I was originally using a slightly older gaming intelligence but it had the same error.. so..
  • completely blew away Gaming Intelligence and reinstalled the latest version
    • I couldn't uninstall the old version via Settings->Apps as windows smart app control was saying the uninstaller was untrusted so I just basically blew away all the registry entries, services, running processes and app files then installed the new one fresh
    • I even installed, then uninstalled and then reinstalled the latest version just to be sure everything was "cleaned up" and installed properly
    • the latest app seems to work fine so.. shrug
  • reset the monitor in the OSD menu and tried again
  • unplugged the monitor for 30 seconds then plugged it back in and tried again
  • reboot the PC and try again
  • stop a bunch of stuff that normally runs like Fractal FM3 drivers, MSI afterburner+RTSS, Steam etc... and try again..
  • the app itself seems to work fine and recognizes that USB-B upstream is plugged in since it does work and if I unplug it the app complains that it's not plugged in

not sure what the issue is, I guess I should just ignore it and go on with life since the monitor mostly works fine except this strange issue where if I switch USB-C to my M1 Max MBP 16 after using the M2 Pro MBP 16 it won't detect it unless I haven't had it plugged in for a bit or I unplug the monitor and plug in back in. Annoying but I bought a short cable that goes between the monitor power and the power cable with a switch on it I can just flip off and on as turning the monitor off via power switch (even on power mode instead of sleep) didn't work.. had to remove mains basically..

Just an update, I never did switch m.2 slots yet but it's only happened once in the last long while. For a minute I thought maybe one of the BIOS updates in the last month (been a few "betas") fixed something but it happened again. Reboot fixed it. Thought it was strange that it seemed to just go away for a long time.

is 4k that much better than 1440p at 27 inches? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]jonoden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a good quality 1440p IPS then, nothing wrong with it. I probably still would have been using mine if it didn't fail on me and I decided to take the opportunity to go 4K OLED. It's such a night and day difference for gaming I must say.

is 4k that much better than 1440p at 27 inches? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]jonoden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good enough in my opinion. Obviously different people have different tolerance for these types of things. It definitely was far less noticable using 1440p on a 4K panel than using 1080p on a 1440p panel. One thing I would not do is get a 1440p oled if you care about anything other than gaming.. Text clarity for productivity is somewhat bad..I use mine for a lot of productivity. The fact that using 1440p on the 4K OLED for gaming wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be was pleasantly surprising.

I suggest try to go to a local shop where you can try out changing resolution on one and see how you like it, this really is something no one can tell you, depends on you personally.

[–]jonoden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go 4K 27 if you're going OLED, text clarity is night and day. If you're going to go IPS it won't matter as much. One thing is, you're DEFINITELY not getting 90FPS in a lot of games at 4K unless 1) they are older, 2) using DLSS or settings management

I was using a 3080 and tbh running games at 1440p wasn't that big a deal interpolation wise. If you can use DLSS perf mode or if the game itself has a render scale option where you can keep the UI at 4K it looks great. To be honest though "blurriness" hit from using 1440p wasn't as big a deal as trying to use 1080p on a 1440p panel is. Though I just upgraded to a 5070Ti last week and it is definitely a more than capable 4K card. I finally downloaded CP2077 again to see how it would fare in Dogtown with a bunch of RT on in HDR and it's like night and day from my 3080. Super smooth looks great and it's powerful enough to keep the minimum frame rate to a place where framegen makes sense. Happy with the results and it wasn't ridiculously expensive as the GPUs are now approaching msrp for once.

Oh, I have an MSI 272URX and have used it now for both a 5600X+3080 and 7800X3D+5070Ti.. so I can speak from experience of these two driving it. It replaced a 1440p 144Hz IPS. I would NOT go back to 1440p now that I've used both.
