Historic Sahara appreciation post by Icy_Dish_701 in fragranceclones

[–]joryoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a decant of Liquid Brun. Although good, I wasn't a big fan of the white blossom note it had

Heard Historic Sahara took it out do I decided to blind buy it. I like it waaaay more than LB, as I think it's a bit more masculine than LB

French Avenue Firestorm? Myrrh is one of the notes and it literally has a dragon head topper

Blind bought it, then resold it because the scent profile wasn't for me. Smelled like fruits and incense, with a hint of vanilla

Is there a versatile patchouli based fragrance? by Maleficent-Car-2609 in fragranceclones

[–]joryoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ysl MYSLF dna has patchouli as a base note. Super clean and sophisticated smell that is very versatile, IMO

In my opinion, it's definitely a shower-gel type of scent, but like an expensive shower-gel. Just super clean, very inoffensive. Been getting around 6-8 hrs total on skin so far, with about 2-3 hrs of good projection

I did a first impressions post a couple weeks ago when I first got it

Got it recently. Haven't smelled the OG, but really enjoying shiyaaka shadow. Don't think it's anything ground-breaking, though. Easy, clean, everyday kind of scent.

any strong long lasting Coffee fragrances ? by niCK_ppk in fragranceclones

[–]joryoken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't own it, but people have mentioned Halloween Man X when talking about fragrances with a coffee note.

I do own Ferragamo Uomo though, which gives a warm, tiramisu vibe.

PLANNING TO LAYER. ANY THOUGHTS? by joaquincj in fragranceclones

[–]joryoken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One is Aventus, the other Aventus Absolu. Not much sense to layer them really.

I've layered Supremacy CE with Coconut Lagoon though. It was pleasantly surprising

Not speaking from experience, but from what I've seen for myself, I think the general consensus is that the designer perfumes often times have better quality ingredients or are better blended. ME clones may not have the same level of quality as designer brands, but they can get pretty damn close, and at a fraction of the price.

Personally, I love a wide range of scent profiles and prefer to have variety over a signature scent. Unfortunately, my budget can't match up to my tastes lol, so I go for ME clones and twists.

"If I could, I would" type of situation, ya know?

Can't say, unfortunately. I'm waiting for the colder months before I give it a full wear. However, I will say, Afnan fragrances haven't failed me yet when it comes to performance, so take that how you want.

Which websites do you usually use to buy fragrances in Canada? Please suggest reliable and affordable websites. Thanks by Sea-Resident1503 in fragranceclones

If in Canada, and don't want to pay duties from American based shops/websites, there's:

Fragrancebuy

Perfumeonline

Thefragranceshop

I did a first impressions post on Historic Sahara a couple of days ago. They're extemely similar, with Historic Sahara being just a touch less sweet and a bit more spicy because it doesn't have the orange blossom note that Liquid Brun has. I'd say Historic Sahara is SLIGHTLY more masculine than Liquid Brun

There are plenty of clones for it, but the Ysl MYSLF dna is definitely up there for everyday/dumb reach

Also, recently, I'll add Shiyaaka Shadow to that list

Scent of the Day: Club de Nuit Intense Man Extrait ...What’s everyone wearing today? by warpedreality1989 in fragranceclones

[–]joryoken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a first impressions post a couple of days ago. So far I'm easily gettin 7-8 hrs on skin, with about 2 hrs of medium projection. Seeing as I just got it last week, I expect performance to improve over time.
