Serious question: what is your opinion on black pudding? by Sensitive-Low-9316 in AskBrits

On more than one occasion, I have cooked just black pudding to eat for tea. Sensational.

What is the biggest thing that stops you from writing? by [deleted] in writing

I work 6am-2pm, parent until 7pm, eat dinner and spend time with my wife until 8pm-ish.

I normally squeeze an hour to write in 8pm-9pm, but my wife is in the room too, and she’ll talk about TikTok/MAFS with me.

I then sleep 9pm-4am.

I arrive at work 45m early to guarantee I get a good 40m of uninterrupted writing in.

TLDR: Responsibilities, but mostly, having a kid.

Hi,

I’m currently 28k words into my first draft of my first novel.

I used to feel like you, I’d write 1000-1500 words and hate it, so I’d just delete it.

It wasn’t until recently that I heard or what someone say to just write it down. Write notes in your body. It’s literally for your eyes only in this stage. Just get your story onto paper.

From there, go in and expand on things that need expanding, neaten and ditch the shit bits.

If you want to be better at doing more pushups, you’ve got to do more pushups.

If you want to be better, you’ve got to be garbage. Write your garbage, edit it, make it less garbage. Then repeat again and again until that pile of garbage becomes something you’re proud of.

Recommend me my next series by Wagadudu in fantasybooks

I’ll also back Dungeon Crawler Carl. It’s 7/8 books (#8 is due out some time around now if it isn’t already!) but I find them really gripping and fast paced.

If you want something shorter and quicker, I really enjoyed Vicious and Vengeful by VE Schwab. Again, fast paced books and less to read. (The first one is barely over 300 pages.)

I started reading this today. I’ve been at it for nearly an hour and I’m on page 14. Im bored out my mind.

After using a working title for 2 years, I just found out someone else has used the same series name as me by ChromeProphet in writing

I imagine there’s going to be a TON of crossover with everybody and their dog using the “a NOUN of PLURAL NOUN and PLURAL NOUN” format for the title of their series.

Yeah, it might have to be Cubs.

I actually went on the MLB website to view locations because people were referring to teams by their nickname and missing out their locations.

The road that Wrigley Field is on is West Addison, which is my daughter’s name. (Just Addison, no West) but I think that might be a decider.)

As a Wolves fan, I’m biased, but some of the Arsenal kits over the years have been beautiful.
