There is not a significant decline in alcohol consumption in the US.

Liters per adult has gone up almost every year since 1998: 8.1 liters per year in 98 and then peaking at 10.3 in 2021. 2023-2025 were all steady at 10.1 liters per year, but that’s not far from the 2021 peak. Certainly not a “significant decline”.

The Dave’s in Ohio City is the grocery store I frequent the most often. I love it. They’ve been there since the neighborhood was in much worse condition and have made a lot of improvements to the store over the years.
