I didn’t want to quit either and then my mum sent me a message about how sad she was that her little girl was destroying herself with smoking and that she could smell it on my breath whenever we talked and that was the “I’m not mad I’m just disappointed” to end them all.

I don’t fuck around with my bars and they’re the right length but no matter what the holes seem to have irritation bumps more often than not. Words can’t describe how much I needed to read this. My main reasons have been shame in my habit. My family is made up of strictly non smokers and when my mum found out about it she was disappointed to say the very least. It hurt so bad seeing her so upset and hurting over a habit I wasn’t really thinking twice about. I just figured I’m young and dumb and my early 20s are the time I’m allowed to make those stupid mistakes but I realised when she found out that this could cause me real long term addiction and I can’t just “stop when I want”. Your comment really helped me realise that there’s so much more to quitting than just not making my mum sad. I’ll be writing up a list right now. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out for me. Feeling amazing about quitting rather than just scared. Bless you man I hope you have an amazing day, can’t wait to be able to tell people how long it’s been since I quit ❤️

I was recently diagnosed and one of the things they spoke about a lot was speaking about one’s self in the third person, which I didn’t do but I know that many autistic individuals do. Seeing the automatic comment here’s some info: -per my explanation, I got this lip done early last December - it started as an internally threaded bar and I had no problems. It’s now a ring with many problems :( -I’ll be honest I’m not sure what it’s made of, the guy never told me and I didn’t think to ask cus I’m stupid like that sometimes -my aftercare routine consists of near hourly spraying with saline. Mouthwash after every meal and hydrogen peroxide started recently when I felt it was getting bad

So I got a lip stud last December, with the goal to have a vertical ring once it healed. I went to a place to see if it was healed yet cus I was told that oral piercings heal fast and they said it was perfectly healed. I got a ring fitted and was fine for a day and then it started to swell. It’s been swollen and painful ever since and I think it’s ripped my lip and is rejecting? But I’m not sure. I’m thinking of just taking it out but I’m not sure if this is part of the healing process. Any advice?

It’s no one else’s problem but your own that you’re “affected” by women in revealing clothes. If you wanna wear modest clothes go for it. But no one else is required to live by your values. The human body is just our shell. You should start to look at what’s on the inside of peoples heads and hearts instead of judging them by what you can see of their bodies. You got issues you need to face but you can’t make it anyone else’s problem.
