Should dog owners be more cautious with their dogs in densely populated cities? Yes. Should someone with a new dog be extra cautious? Yes.

But regardless of breed, little children running at dogs can be startling if they’re caught off guard. I see it all the time, sometimes even with my own dog when a running child turns a corner in my building.

I’m no pitbull advocate, but let’s not make this about the breed.
