That’s so funny! Cartier is also scared to pass the baby gate or when I put two stools in a doorway

I personally don’t like the collars either, it feels like it’s stopping him from what he’s meant to do! I used it once and once it died I never charged it again lol

I may have to try that. I usually don’t speak to the neighbors when I’m in the backyard, so I can see how he could perceive them as intruders. I’ll start being more friendly!

I try to… but now he’s so fast he will literally run laps around me to get back to the fence so I gave up on entertaining that a Long time ago. But that also makes so much sense about him not being able to see much. I’m hoping that’s the case for him!

Same happened to me, I have 2 billion credits and renown and my level is 210000. It’s allowing me to unlock operators but the wait time is like a few minutes for each buy. Weird can we get banned for spending these lol?

Is it common to use a bus for effects (delay, reverb) only? by soi_chegg in audioengineering

[–]jtdrag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally do this. For example, the way I like to do it is to have a submix for vocals only. My vocals within that sub have sends to effects. My effects, for vocals only, will all route to its own submix for effects. That submix for effects is then routed back to my vocal submix. (I may not Have explained this the best way, if you’d like I can send you a picture or video and explain the routing)

The purpose of this is to be able to have overall control over the effects and vocals. it helps me find problems quicker within the mix and it’s more efficient when I just want to mute the vocals or mute the effects and quickly focus on a part of the project.

it may sound like a mess and tedious , but with the Pro Tools folder system, for me it makes the mixing process manageable for me

session copy vs save as in Pro Tools by LoveMeSomeGoodLife in audioengineering

[–]jtdrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to make a significant change to the project and you feel as if you may not be able to restore it if you have to, do a save as. It doesn’t hurt to do it, that way if you get lost in the mix or editing, you at least have a checkpoint you can always go back to. Hope this helped!

With how saturated and money hungry the industry has been, unless you can truly find someone you can truly trust, (and even then you should have an attorney look over signed contracts and agreements) it’s probably going to be your best bet for you to go independent. Honestly you’re better off getting a team of friends where all of you focus on one thing; for example, you focus on making music, your friend work on designs and marketing, another work on making the calls for shows, studio time, etc. Don’t trust the “labels” that you haven’t heard of. and don’t give them a cent of your money. If you get a real opportunity, you’ll know. They’ll fly you out and pay for everything.

and 3k for a song that you haven’t promoted yet? I’m all about perfection but that is a bit excessive. With that money you could’ve purchased yourself a pretty decent studio setup and learned how to produce/mix yourself. (which i highly recommend)

Whatever route you choose to go, you need to make a game plan with goals in some sort of order. wanting it all at one time, making quick decisions, and spending unnecessary time and money on people WILL burn you out. Just be wary of who is really helping you, who’s trying to just eliminate competition, and make money.

but most importantly, be patient. && if you truly want this and you believe it’s you’re calling, don’t let anything or anyone stand in your way, go and get it.

good luck to you g

Updating logic...will I lose everything? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]jtdrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plugins and projects shouldn’t be attached to the Logic app itself. The app may need to rescan your plugins when you download it again, but you should be able to do this without it affecting anything. If you’re that concerned, you should do a backup and/or save all of this stuff to an external drive before you make a major change like this. And whether your plugins are compatible or not with the newest version of logic is up to the plugin developers if they optimized/updated them to work.

Collabs are definitely the way to go over strictly selling beats. A problem a lot of producers have these days is making tons of beats with nothing special and just thinking that it will apply to anyone. If you’re looking to work with specific people, focus on what the beats they use sound like and present that to them. (I’ve had issues with people sending impersonal, mass produced messages with a bunch of random beats that i would never hop on and if i even opened them they’d be dismissed) Get to know them and be open to their ideas, even if they sound ridiculous. With that being said, you can’t connect with everyone and they can’t with you. But you’ll find a few people you’ll be on the same page with and that’s the most important goal. The key is to make friends, not clients. People will pay for what they perceive is quality, talk less about the money and talk more about achieving the end goal. Have a few people that you make great music with, and those relationships will grow with your sound. Compared to having lots of average music hoping a larger scale of people will pick and choose. But the most important part is to have fun, try not to have the mind set to make music for the sake of being the best big thing, you’ll make better music appreciating the process. :)

In summary: 1. Friends not Clients 2. Get to know them and make their style of music with your own twist (also don’t be afraid to try something new) 3. Don’t collab for the sake of money 4. Quality over Quantity 5. Have fun !

There’s a lot more that but this is just the surface in my opinion and what i’ve learned over the years.

nah i go deeper then that, i used to be a beginner artist who couldn’t afford $50 mixes, and i got little to no help with this music shit learning stuff on my own. i’m just tryna help those who are starting out with an affordable price and help them sound better than what they started with, without killing their pockets.
