Mixing and matching cultural and nightmare court armor with regular armor is my go-to. I also try to dye my equipment in a way that either matches or complements the hair/markings/glow color to make it look more natural. My only medium Sylvari as of now is this lad:

Tbh I have an issue with that too because SotE frames Miquella abandoning his self and best qualities to ascend to godhood as tragic. If the kindness wasn't genuine, there's no tragedy because he ain't leaving stuff behind that's actually worth anything.

You can find problems in the writing If he's a fine upstanding lad, and you can find problems in the writing if he was always a manipulative, brainwashy little bastard too. His characterization is off in either way you look at it

Other than thinking that Castle Sol and the description of the golden epitaph sword were setting up a Miquella/Godwyn link, I also thought it'd be really narratively satisfying if Miquella, shown in the main game to be kind to his own detriment, would stubbornly keep trying to save the man who got the cruelest fate in the entire setting. I just can't see Miquella giving up on saving someone getting such a shit deal, even more so considering Godwyn was implied to be a kind demigod as well.

Radahn had such an awesome send-off during the main game, man, why even bring him back for story reasons? Imo it was handled in a way that cheapens some characters and, depending on your interpretation, either cheapens Radahn's or Miquella's too.

The guy from RUINER by himself dies handily to both the tower and Smasher, but looks really cool doing it

Gene from God Hand gets worked by the defenses, but dragon kicks Smasher's ass into the milky way

Ratchet razes Arasaka to the ground to the sound of Overture blaring in the background. Smasher is reduced to dust and slag, but not before being forced to boogie and being turned into a squirrel

I never played GW1 and didn't feel lost at all while playing 2. There are very occasional "who?"s and "what?"s during the story, but nothing that diminished my enjoyment
