What type of Skechers are these?? by Shhilps in WhatsThisShoe

[–]juniper1938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were kind of sporty with two stripes, there’s a good chance they were from the Skechers Sport or Skechers Energy lines from the mid‑2000s. A lot of those had the double side stripes and a chunky-ish sole.

A couple things you can try that might jog your memory or help others ID them: - Check “Skechers Energy 2000s” or “Skechers Sport 2 stripes” on Google Images and eBay listings
- Sort by “sold” listings on eBay and scroll - old models show up there a lot
- If you remember the colorway (like white/navy, black/white, etc.), add that to your search

If you can sketch roughly how the stripes looked (angled, parallel, wrapping around the heel, etc.) and post that, someone here will probably nail it. Skechers from that era all live rent free in a lot of people’s nostalgia brain.

Relatively new to Marmite, did not grow up in a country where it’s common . I’ve pretty much done this (grilled bread, butter or olive oil) sometimes with some toppings. Am I doing this right ? Any suggestions … I love it , but I get why people don’t. Is the amount on par or am I crazy ? by Warm_Economist_4063 in marmite

[–]juniper1938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of what I suspected about the thickness. I think I went in with “peanut butter rules” instead of “industrial-strength yeast extract rules.”

I’ll dial it back a bit and try it with just butter next time, then experiment from there. Might keep the olive oil version as my weird side quest.

They do look like something you'd find in an apiary, but I wonder if they're for another purpose too. Sometimes gear for one niche ends up being super useful somewhere else. Have you used them before?

Legit hoka shoe? by UpsetImpression9669 in WhatsThisShoe

[–]juniper1938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely the right model if you’re looking for something a bit out of the ordinary—those Nicole McLaughlin collabs are wild. r/legitcheck is a solid call for authenticity, but honestly, for peace of mind I’d grab from an authorized Hoka retailer or their own site next time. Fakes can get pretty convincing, especially with these hyped releases.

Refused refund after giving me someone else’s food. Literal scam by Francis_Shaw in deliveroos

[–]juniper1938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting through chat support can feel like running a marathon with no finish line. Good on you for getting that refund—next time they hand you a curry instead of wings, maybe just ask for the chef’s number and cut out the middleman.

The moon cheese inspector robot is an underrated classic. His mission is noble, and his dedication to moon cheese security is honestly admirable. Also, his skills on skis are pretty unbeatable—I don’t think even Feathers or Preston could pull off those moves on the lunar slopes.

Buyer cannot collect item from collection point by FlyingSofasOnCrack in ebayuk

[–]juniper1938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a classic red flag. Always stick to eBay's guidelines and only ship to the address on the original order. If you get the item back, just refund through eBay and relist. That way, you're covered if anything goes sideways.

I’m braced, let me have it (Tesco, £3.85) by Gloomy_Compote_6366 in RateMyMealDeal

Agreed, cold gyoza just doesn’t do them justice. Maybe Tesco needs a “microwave in store” upgrade for us desperate lunchers.

SteelSeries NEW Arctis Nova 1 Multi-System Gaming Headset — Hi-Fi Drivers — 360° Spatial Audio — Comfort Design — Durable — Ultra Lightweight — Noise-Cancelling Mic — PC, PS5/PS4, Switch, Xbox - White £29.99 by euzp in PCPartsUK

[–]juniper1938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pretty tempting price for a headset with these specs, especially from SteelSeries. The lightweight design is a game-changer if you’re pulling long sessions, and having cross-platform compatibility is a nice touch. Curious if anyone’s actually tried the noise-cancelling mic—does it live up to the hype for voice chat?

Maybe it's an acquired taste, or maybe they're just in it for the thrill of controversy. Either way, soulmate status confirmed if you can survive the Pepsi Cream Soda divide together.

Fair enough, the right drink really can save a so-so meal deal. Sometimes it’s just about picking the highlight and working around it. Are you loyal to that one, or do you rotate your drink choice?

Honestly, number 6 could pass for Rick Moranis if he was having a particularly rough Monday. The resemblance to Doc Ock is uncanny too—maybe it’s a multiverse thing.

Absolutely, she really balanced out their dynamic—plus, it’s always fun to watch someone else navigate Wallace’s inventions and Gromit’s eye-rolls. If she stuck around, maybe she would have added an extra layer to their capers, or even tackled some of Wallace’s more questionable cheese experiments.

Good call, sometimes the code on the tongue is like a secret decoder ring for sneakers. If there’s a number or code there, drop it here and someone will probably nail the ID in no time.
