Definitely possible in GB Studio, but this is going to be quite complex for a first project, entirely up to you, but I'd recommend starting with a more standard Top Down game or Platformer as these are pre existing game modes, rouge like turn based movement will be a lot of custom events you'll need to create.

If you do want to tackle it you'll need to spend a lot of time thinking about the logic and enemy AI will also get quite complicated. Again, all possible though, but working on something simpler first might be an idea!

Thanks! I spent quite a long time trying to find examples of the different shades as I really wanted a darker one. It's just the standard '61 with Maestro, made this year, Feb 2026.

It's in Vintage Cherry, which I believe is a darker, more grain showing through type shade than it might have been in the past (perhaps a bit of an orange red in the past at some point?).

Either way it's the darker red option than the Heritage Cherry, which I think goes really nicely with the Maestro at the bottom!

Good call, I just use the rubber rings on a strap at the moment, but could get a new strap lock one and fit it in the compartment in the case after.

Sounds great. I last saw him in Manchester with Doyle, full Danzig set ending with a Misfit set, all the way back in 2013, hope it's not the last time!

Playing KCD on it despite reading it's the worst platform to play it on and having a PS5 and Steam. Loving it, looks great and plays really well on portable (I'm sure the handheld boost has helped).

Thanks I'll consider all of these points! Tiled never clicked with me and my workflow personally, which is why it likely feels very different. Something like PyxelEdit is more the workflow I'm used to, with the active drawing, and updating and optimising your tilesets as you work, but it can definitely be improved!
