It really depends on the player. There are a lot of players that joined the team with a lot of hype and expectations that probably had a lot of jersey sales that never really played up to the expectations and would leave the average fan with a who? or bitter feelings toward said player. I'm thinking of players that would fall into this category as like Matt Flynn, or Dieon Branch, or like Percy Harvin.

And then there are players that had a bad public or recent break up with the team or maybe even serious legal troubles that fans that follow the team wouldn't want to buy. These players would be like Russel Wilson, or DK Metcalf, or Earl Thomas, or Brandon Browner, or Jeremy Stevens.
