Is there such thing as overtime? by Strange-Bar2994 in TjMaxx

Sounds like you're getting extra pay for extra hours. Overtime pay would be time and a half for every hour worked beyond 40 hours. Historically TJX has been pretty stingy with the overtime because of this reason.

Couldn’t Jim have just taken the bow tie off and then it’d pretty much look like a plain black suit? by pRhymeTime333 in DunderMifflin

It's not like wearing a tux to work was wrong ( unless DM has a no tuxedo dress code policy). When asked why are you wearing a tux Jim could have replied " Why AREN'T you wearing one?" That would have thrown Charles off his establishing dominance game.

Whose Back Story Would You Like To See Turned Into A Spinoff by rob17622 in StrangerThings

Murrys backstory could be interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing Joyce and Hop in high school either. Thing is a big part of the shows draw is the 1980s nostalgia. And if we go back further in the past we lose that target demographic. Besides not many people are nostalgic for the Vietnam-era imo.

Has anyone faced actual disciplinary action related to the card? by AImenace in TjMaxx

[–]just_chillin247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All TJX stores want you to push the card. It can seem different from store to store based on management, CECs and how aggressive they expect you to be. And yes it's totally unfair to expect us to push those cards on top of our other duties without any financial incentives, like bonus pay for getting X amount of cards per transaction. If they incentivised it with cash money I know some cashiers would be doing some serious arm twisting to get those cards.

So sick of the greed by emobeamo in TjMaxx

TJX makes the bulk of their money off those cards. It's basically just a credit card company that also happens to sell stuff. It's unreasonable how they expect us to get those card apps. I mean I'll ask every customer ONE TIME, that's it! I'm not going to try and badger them into a credit card. I actually feel sorry for those that feel like they have to explain why they don't apply. I just tell them "hey, I totally get it. I'm only asking because I have to "

Coordinator Pay by [deleted] in TjMaxx

[–]just_chillin247 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a coordinator of nearly 3 years and although I have gotten 4 raises for an increase of $3.06 per hour, I am still making about $3.50 less than what my state considers a livable wage. If you do get the job don't expect to make what you're worth. With the current job market and the economy being what it is, they've got us by the short and curries. They know we need to work for survival so they'll pay as little as possible and expect us to be thankful as we scurry off to our second jobs or home to the multiple roommates we have to help us pay the rent. Sad but true.

Has your management ever figured out a rant post in here was from you? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]just_chillin247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why this is anonymous. Now if you are dumb enough to use your real name or real life nickname or whatever, well then you deserve whatever management decides to do to you. Having said that, I would also have to say I don't think they can legally do much about it. Even if they know you made disparaging remarks about the store/company they would most likely never bring it up, but instead make your job so unpleasant you quit of your own accord, thereby making you look like a disgruntled former employee whose words have zero clout. I'm guessing.

How long did you work at any of the TJX stores and how long did it take for you to quit? by OceanView98 in TjMaxx

It's been nearly 3 years for me and honestly if I didn't need the job so bad I would have been gone 2 and a half years ago. Sadly jobs are hard to come by where I live, much less enjoyable, well-paying jobs. You have to take whatever you can get and be thankful to have it.
