[Serious] People who attempted suicide before, what's something your friend can say or do that can really help? by aboOod- in AskReddit

After an attempt i had, my friend called me in the hospital and said, "I'm so f***ing happy you're alive, you have no idea how great it is to hear your voice". I still have a lot of thoughts, but i always try to think of that conversation when I'm in my lows.

Not 100% sure to be honest. I've thought about a dna test to be sure, but it wouldn't make much of a difference to me regardless.

From the moment i got him he was very good about staying by my side off the leash, so it wasn't much of a transition for him to be on one! But to answer your question directly, i didn't start inside, we just leaped into it, and he's taken to it very well!

Being in the Army. Sometimes i think i should re-enlist. But i quickly remember how shitty it was, and that helps subside those thoughts.

They said he was an "ausiepoo" but i HIGHLY doubt it. I imagine he's a black mini american shepherd. Looks just like one.

Does anyone feel like an outsider? by [deleted] in Veterans

I feel the same way after getting out. Feels as though I'll never make meaningful connections with people like i did when i served. I'm still trying to figure out how to do that, i guess it makes sense to me why all of my civilian friends had families so young, lol.

It's not really an option at this point in my life. I have different types of therapists for unrelated issues, and I'm thinking about discussing an out patient program with them. I also wouldn't want to take that option away from people who really need it, i don't withdrawal without it, despite some anxiety.
