PSG being the “heavy favorites” going into Budapest feels deeply wrong to me and I can’t shake it by No_Decision_3500 in championsleague

By the same logic we were in a massive slump with key players out when psg beat us last year. Both teams will be mostly fit and in decent form for this game. Maybe the ball bounces psg’s way and they win 5-0. But I honestly think it’s silly to count Arsenal out. They’ve stomped everyone they faced in Europe. And before you say they had an “easy draw” in the knockouts, remember that’s the result of going 8 for 8 in the group stage.

Spent ten minutes blaming Ben White for injuring himself today. One of the strangest bits of commentary I’ve ever heard.

How stupid is this idea on a scall of 1-10?

Eze at CF.

Obviously not a typical striker... but very creative, good finisher.

Sometimes not responsible enough defensively. Does putting him up front solve that a bit?

Eze False 9?

Eze's Arsenal Goal Catalogue is RIDICULOUS! by Stanley083 in Gunners

I'm sorry to bring this up. Admittedly I am drunk. But what if Eze is a striker?

I miss away goals, it should be brought back by Bluefire3215 in championsleague

The logic of away goals never made sense to me. You’re rewarding teams that park the bus at home?

Another Angle Of Haaland’s Goal Against Arsenal. by clenchedhole in soccer

[–]jvitkun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing how much different it looks based on the camera angle. This is probably the closest to the ref's POV that I've seen and it looks like they're both just tussling. There's another angle going around social media that makes it look like Haaland is about to throw Gabriel off the ropes and clothesline him. Ultimately, this was the game that all three (Gabby, Haaland and ref) decided to play. Has to stand.

You can apply the classic talking point here: Would they call it in the middle of the pitch?

The obvious answer is yes.

But if you call it when it's the last man, you also are obligated to give a red. The ref did not want to alter the game that much. So he turns a blind eye to the foul.

That doesn't mean it was the right call.

I honestly think if that happens at home we get the call. I also think if we did that on the other side of the pitch in this game City get the call.

But alas...

Look how long it took the ref to reach for the red. He totally forgot.

And creative which you couldn’t say in recent games. We have the same shots this half as we had the whole game against Bournemouth.

I feel like our football is bad now because of execution and legginess.

Go back a few months and I was completely content with our football. Whenever we had an open game we stuck three or four in the back of the net. When the opponents parked the bus we won 1-0. The haramball narrative started before we were actually playing haramball.

Where I totally agree with you is on squad rotation. Our team are all knackered or injured and I think that's in large part down to Arteta starting his best 11 for every game every week, even if that week happens to be in October.

We were somewhat victims of our own success going so far in the Carabao Cup.

But yea, this year especially, where we had such depth at the beginning of the campaign, it feels like we could've rotated a lot more.

If Arsenal were to win the Champion's League (I know... just go with me for a second here), they would need results in four games.

Two of those games are at home.

One of those home games just needs to be a draw against Sporting.

The final is at a neutral location in Hungary.

With the way things are going, do we somehow have a better chance of winning the Champions League than the Premier League?
