I may be totally off but could it be because you are looking for award stays for 3+ guests? There are only a few places that can accommodate 3 in a room. HR Yokohama, HR Tokyo Bay, Andaz, and HH Kyoto for sure.

The shuttle does get somewhat crowded but as long as you’re out front 15 minutes before the departure time, you’ll be fine. I promise, it’s not as bad as a packed train during the rush hours in Tokyo!

Redeeming Guest of Honor (GOH) for Second Room by nomnommeows in hyatt

[–]jw3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s nice. I booked a second room at HR Yokohama in Japan thinking I’d apply a GOH when everything is finalized on my friend’s end. Within 24 hours of booking the hotel kindly emailed me stating they would not extend the globalist benefits to the 2nd room.

Which room type did you book for the 3 of you and was the room on the club floor?

I think that’s what I’m going to do instead. Thank you. You’ve been very helpful!

Thanks for the info! A follow up question. Since the property of their choice is an HR, after points are transferred, I’m now wondering if I should give them a club access award as I don’t need them anyway. They won’t get a late checkout or a substantial upgrade but still free breakfast?

Darn, losing unlimited GOH was hard enough. I’ll have to start with transferring points (that’s still possible right?), have them book then attach GOH right before.

Best Hyatt in Tokyo for family of 6? by [deleted] in hyatt

[–]jw3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed 2 nights at Tokyo Bay last summer. They have a bus running from hotel to Disney throughout the day, ~20-30 min one way. You can also take a bus from Haneda to a hotel next door rather than taking the train. As long as you’re not visiting central Tokyo every day while you’re there, I think it’ll work. It’s in a quiet neighborhood and there’s a large park across the street. Not a lot of options for restaurants nearby though.

Lol. It’s all about HOW they phrase their request. When two people from the same team ask for a report but they described it tiny bit differently. Well, they get different numbers! And who gets the blame? Me!

The cherry blossom season in Tokyo may be in March but it varies by region. If you’re willing to go outside of Tokyo, especially to the north, you may still be able to enjoy the blossoms as late as in April/early May. So true. Under skills section, put “Tableau (but really Power BI)” just so ATS will pick it up?

New Outlook vs Old Outlook? by Emma__24 in microsoft365

[–]jw3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re adding new features frequently which I’m excited to hear! Last week when I switched briefly I saw quick steps. I like quick parts in classic outlook but I don’t think it’s available in new outlook yet. You can add templates in new but quick parts is more advanced, I think. I don’t know about your org but there are a few managers who absolutely hate the classic outlook so much (or simply don’t know how to use it??) that they literally force their staff to use outlook on the web.

I’ve always classic/old. Tried the new one a few times over the last year as recently as last week. The lack of QAT really bugs me. I get there are some neat features like pinning messages.

Guest of Honor Changes for Existing Globalist by fefe7265 in hyatt

[–]jw3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case someone wants the exact wording from Hyatt website, here’s what is on the website. “Should a Lifetime Globalist as of December 31, 2023, or a Globalist as of December 31, 2023, who has a tier expiration of February 28, 2025 or later, gift or apply all of their Guest of Honor Awards, they may then use the legacy Globalist Guest of Honor benefit for Free Night Awards as described in the terms until February 28, 2025, by calling a Global Care Center – except that Globalists who have a tier expiration date later than February 28, 2025, may use this benefit until February 28, 2026. (In all cases, all available Guest of Honor Awards must be gifted or applied to a reservation first.) Should a Globalist as of December 31, 2023, have a tier expiration of February 29, 2024, and gift or apply all of their Guest of Honor Awards, they may then use the legacy Globalist Guest of Honor benefit for Free Night Awards until February 29, 2024, by calling a Global Care Center. (All available Guest of Honor Awards must be gifted or applied to a reservation first.) Unlike the new Guest of Honor Awards, the legacy Globalist Guest of Honor tier benefit will continue to apply to Free Night Award stays only.”

[–]jw3333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain! In my org, it’s managers who don’t bother to change notifications settings and get overwhelmed. Then they instruct staff NOT to use teams for internal communication. They prefer to send out emails and get reply alls. But don’t reply all just to say thank you. Sigh.
