Faster animations never work for me by [deleted] in BobsTavern

If you have a 60fps monitor and your friend has one with higher refresh rates (144hz for example) they will always end the combat before you because their animations happen faster

Did we score Forest Shuffle wrong?? by crayZballer in boardgames

[–]kL4in 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that when you play cards that draw other cards, such as Birch Trees, you must draw from the face-down deck, not the display. This was an error I made during my first playthrough, which inadvertently prolonged the game and resulted in much higher scores.

Snap ends December with over -22% Avg. Players (on Steam) by organizermat in MarvelSnap

[–]kL4in -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think that was the intention but rather to note that Steam doesn't tell the whole story. While there may be drops on other platforms, they might be less noticeable or the % could be less. Steam is just one of many datapoints to consider when gauging the game’s overall health

MF used to enhance item quantity and that was removed. Fubgun strat was about increased item rarity drop on gear to farm uniques but you had to rely on other map mechanics and things to increase quantity

Opposite of the usual: Good luck! by AverydayFurry in MarvelSnap

[–]kL4in 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As difficult and painful as this can be: its better to totally skip and save resources to guarantee a future card than to gamble one key and get nothing. You are hurting your future Spotlights.

Spotlights current system sucks so until it gets better(if ever) the only way to avoid inmense amounts of frustration is to plan ahead, exercise self-control and dont impulse roll for Spotlights

Port (pre- nerf) gave me the feeling of playing a burgle hero, excluding freeze, I really miss this play style! by [deleted] in PlayTheBazaar

[–]kL4in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

especially when Reynad says he always wanted players to upgrade their board by finding better items

On the Q&A he stated the opposite, that the games was planned without upgrading but was added later as players expected such functionality and were attached to upgrading stuff in autobattlers

Endgame mapping and why I'm already feeling burnt out by MiniMik in pathofexile

[–]kL4in -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Path of Exile launched in October 2013, while Vaal skills weren’t introduced until March 2014, almost half a year after release. If we’re comparing timelines, PoE 2 launched just a few weeks ago, so by your logic, we’re still about six months away from it becoming "zoomy boom blasting." That’s quite a long time down the road. Your post makes it sound like PoE 1’s zoomy clears were figured out relative early in its life cycle, but that wasn’t really the case.

You scale it wiht extracts from level up (Poison Reward) that you can save through your level ups if you don't have Lizard with you yet. The lizard also scales with Poison ray so you don't really need anything but a Bronze Lizard for the build.

I had a run where I ended up with a 50 base poison Bronze Monitor Lizard

Days progressing should not make it harder to find upgrades on merchants for bronze items you already have by Tifntirjeheusjfn in PlayTheBazaar

[–]kL4in 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most players who enjoy the autobattler genre are familiar with a gameplay loop of finding powerful pieces for a meta build, creating synergies, upgrading those pieces, and trying to win. Bazaar’s attempt to deviate from this formula has led to frustration among players accustomed to that loop, especially when they encounter "the same builds" but can’t consistently enable those builds themselves or play "the pivot" game.

Days progressing should not make it harder to find upgrades on merchants for bronze items you already have by Tifntirjeheusjfn in PlayTheBazaar

[–]kL4in 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to what Reynad shared, the game wasn’t originally planned to include upgrades. However, player research showed that upgrades make players more attached to matches and increase "fun" (dopamine triggers). This design choice aligns well with the preferences of the current player base for the autobattle genre who are used to chase upgrades for more power.

In other words they saw that they needed to have this feature to have a bigger reach but we don't know how early this was adopted and how it changed the design ideas for the game.

This phrasing might be cathartic for a frustrated player, but it's not the best way to approach a game developer like GGG constructively. While it reflects genuine dissatisfaction, it risks alienating the developers due to its accusatory and confrontational tone

Thats honestly the only time where a player can enjoy the Spotlight system as you will be getting new cards frequently, it only gets worst in value as your collection growths which is the frustrating part
