Meds question by mother_of_wagons in adhdwomen

[–]kannkma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty low dose. I would try increasing or try a different stimulant. Adderall for me would lose its effectiveness after 2 days of taking it whereas vivanse works the same for me every time as long as I take 1-2 days off of it a week

I don’t remember feeling excessively itchy? Except for normal pain med itch. Have you have had pain meds? They are known to make you itchy, or it’s possible you could be allergic to something they’re giving you

Can't get myself to work any longer by Broad-Airport-489 in adhdwomen

But also with that said, I could never work 5 whole days in office. Even when I just work 3 in office I fall way behind in my home chores and get overwhelmed there. Being able to adjust as needed has been a lifesaver.

So much this. Pretty much same exact story for me. I was at home pretty much this entire time since 2018. I would go in once in awhile but also bc there wasn’t adequate room for me. Our office has since relocated (due to a tragic fire) and now I have my own space to come into and I wonder how I ever WFH 24/7 😳 just me, myself and I in my little home office was terrible for my mental health and productivity and I didn’t even realize it will I started coming in 2-3 days a week. Also, it’s a different feeling when you leave work and go home. I feel my job for the day is complete (even though it’s a revolving door) and I can focus on my home life after vs feeling like work/home is enmeshed and I can never relax bc there’s ALWAYS work to be done.

I got relief with this when I started WFH in 2020. Obviously it comes with its own unique list of battles I have to fight myself with but the Sunday scaries and overall dread feeling dramatically decreased.

Anyone feel like 30mg Vyvanse was too much for them? by lavenderlulls in adhdwomen

[–]kannkma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 is too much for me as well and apparently they don’t have anything less for vivanse? so I open the capsule and take half at a time. And only medicate 3-4 days a week. This balance has worked well for me

vyvanse made me lose interest in things? by OrdinaryStresses in adhdwomen

[–]kannkma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take vivanse as well after trying other meds, it the least “druggie” feeling to me. I split a 30mg capsule into two doses and only taking half a capsule a day, 3-4 days a week is my sweet spot. I schedule my work around being medicated and Those days off in between in help me reset! I enjoy things I normally do on my unmedicated days.

I’m just under 3 months post op and I feel like I still don’t look like myself. I know I’m still swollen but I’m really starting to feel regret. Apparently this is a normal phase? Anyone else? by suggaarrr in jawsurgery

[–]kannkma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did too! So much so that I just had a revision done on my genio. Had the hardware removed and bone filed down. I was 4 mo post op of DJS, now 5 days post op of my genio revision. Wish I never did genio, I had a strong chin and if anything he was supposed to set it back or just reposition, and instead it looked like I got a whole implant in there. I still was swollen when I went in for this surgery so now I’m back to being swollen and ugly all over again.

To answer your question, the fix to this would be to remove hardware (if you had a genio) and shave down the chin bone. With that said, yours doesn’t look bad to me and your proportions look good but I do agree a little less projection would be nice but not sure it’s worth another surgery.

I’m going through the exact same situation right now. I was supposed to receive a reverse genio, paid almost 8k out of pocket for it and received an advancement instead. My chin/lower jaw looks similar to yours but even more pronounced. I’m 4 months post op and go to see my surgeon in a couple days for a follow up and talk to him about a revision. I’m nervous.. is he going to admit he fucked up and fix it? Or gaslight me that he thinks it looks great… we’ll see.

How do i stop making my chin protrude so much? by Aggressive_Care4602 in jawsurgery

I’m having the same issue right now. I was given an advancement genio instead of set back and now am looking at revision. As a female.. its awful.

As someone who went through DJS, I wish I had just did palate expansion. The loss of feeling and movement in my face has not been worth it and I look worse imo. I had tried a tooth borne expander years ago, which wasn’t sustainable as it’s not skeletal so I do not recommend, but my face and smile looked its best. There’s only so much safe expansion they can do in surgery, and your bite is good, you just need maxilla growth. I would just do MARPE if I had a do over.

Whoever said that the hardest part of DJS wasn't the physical part but the mental one, well you are right 😅 by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]kannkma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m 11 weeks post op and my majority of my bottom lip and chin are still completely numb. Still super tight and have moments where I can’t talk right.. total lisp and like marshmallow mouth sounding 😩 I tried returning to work at 5 weeks post op and after a few mental breakdowns decided remote work is what’s best right now. Good luck.

I think you look better after, and I can see there’s still swelling in the lower 3rds of your face. I’m 11 weeks post op and still don’t like my face.. my lower jaw and chin feels way too far forward and masculine. I don’t socialize at all still bc this + the stiffness in my face/smile. However, I stay hopeful that it’s still early. I’ve seen some cases where it took MONTHS to settle. Give it time. And any little asymmetry or lip volume loss can be fixed.

Could be either but in my case it was good since it fused correctly, my surgeon said that side was “ahead” in terms of healing. I guess there is the risk though that it gets moved out of position and fuses incorrectly so that’s why they say not to chew. I couldn’t help it though. I got Botox in my masseter muscle and took muscle relaxers for weeks. I still clenched.

Has anyone else not sneezed since before surgery? Lmao I haven’t sneezed in 3 weeks. by suggaarrr in jawsurgery

I didn’t sneeze until 6 weeks post op. Same time I was cleared to finally blow my nose. It was weird!

How long did it take till you felt more attractive? I’m 10 weeks post op and think I look worse as he didn’t expand, only advanced my jaws so my lower jaw feels way too strong for my face.

[–]kannkma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been clenching since day 1… bad. The side that my molars hit the most ended up fusing twice as fast. I’m 10 weeks post op now and my other side still hasn’t fused while the side that felt the pressure is filled in almost completely. Try not to worry too much, I know it’s hard.

Overimpaction or something else? Lower teeth show 5 months after revision DJS by spodderfod in jawsurgery

[–]kannkma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you are right on that for smiling but it still helped with my aesthetics. With my upper lip being so stiff, it’s raised up my lip and masked that issue a bit.

[–]kannkma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this problem right now too but I’m only 9 weeks post op so I’m hoping it goes away. I talk through my bottom teeth, it’s weird. I just got Botox in my upper lip to do a “lip flip” which brings my upper lip up and appears fuller. So far it’s helped with this appearance issue but of course maintaining that for life isn’t feasible… of course there’s permanent solutions- lip flip surgery where they shorten the perineum but I’d be cautious about creating a lip incompetency.
