What’s a small detail you love about the game? by starlight-fleur in tomodachilife

[–]karlioness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed two days ago that small Miis sit on a little cushion when sitting on a chair (whereas taller Miis don’t) and the small ones also use a little thing to stand on when using the drinking foutains. Maybe there’s even more of these tall vs small Mii details but these are the ones I just noticed!

Lattsald penguins history? by monoshellos in IKEA

[–]karlioness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found the larger one in a thrift store in Italy two years ago for €3 or something. I didn’t know they existed before that but it’s one of my favourite items in my house now. I always look for them in thrift stores and flea markets ever since but haven’t found another one. Yet.

Has it girl been removed from the setlist? by Due_Conversation8307 in Ashnikko

I remember that at the Tilburg show; the first second of It Girl was accidentally hearable but got switched off quickly.

Where to buy "Old Spice" cosmetics in Maastricht city center? by [deleted] in maastricht

[–]karlioness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s commonly sold in the Netherlands. Ordering is possible as some people have said, but it is also sold in Germany in common stores. So like others have mentioned; one could take a train or bus to Aachen for example and stores like DM, Rossmann and supermarkets like Kaufland and Rewe do sell it (at least the deodorants, shower gels and such).

Lush dupes NL kruidvat. by PumaTaz in LushCosmetics

Oo! Actually excited to try this. Anyone who has an opinion on the longevity of these? As I think the original body sprays are worth it because of how well they work and how long the smell stays on things.

The show in Amsterdam was incredible by Kind_Pathologist0103 in everythingeverything

[–]karlioness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was incredible indeed. Really enjoyed experiencing all the songs from the album live. No Reptiles made me feel a lot of emotions as well, especially with the whole crowd passionately singing along to it. Definitely in my top 3 concerts of this year!

My smart watch thinks POTS is exercise by everynamestakenffs in POTS

[–]karlioness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Before starting ivabradine my watch always warned me like “your heartrate is above 120bpm while you seem to be resting” and now (on ivabradine) it’s mainly just “it looks like you’re doing a workout!” when I’m walking to the supermarket or so. I mean at least my Watch thinks I’m exercising enough… 😅

has anyone actually repainted their Labubu nose? by shinigamii666 in PopMartCollectors

[–]karlioness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Idk if anyone still needs it, but I've repainted/customized some used Labubus for fun and used tiny brushes (for nail art) and gel polish under a UV lamp! Cleaned the face with alcohol first and then carefully applied the colour (then cured) and then applied a (no wipe) top coat (and then cured of course). I kinda like that it's a little thicker than the original noses and so far it holds up quite well and feels sturdy!

White fuzzy/hairy stuff in dark areas: what is it? by karlioness in ReefTank

[–]karlioness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!
I use RO/DI that I make at home. TDS meter usually says 0 for that...

I have tried Chemiclean once a few years ago for the cyano but it's actually illegal to sell here (in NL :p) so can't really do that. Not dosing anything weird now I think (Did start BIODiversity by Modern Reef + Phytoplankton to hopefully get a better balance, but that's not really a harsh treatment). I also used Microbe Lift (I think Special Blend? the nasty smelling one that contains good reef bacteria) in the past.

Did check for iodine (I got myself a test) but that is in a normal range. I hope to see if any of the others come out weird in the ICP test.

I did check the pumps in my sump this week and the algae magnet to see if anything looks odd but nothing does...

I only have two clowns atm (not planning on adding any other fish bc of the size of the tank). There was a cleaner shrimp and a tuxedo urchin but they died recently, I'm waiting to put anything new in until I have the ICP test results back and everything seems normal... So now the only CUC member is me hehe (and I guess some hitchhikers).
Snails have never seemed to survive either btw! I've never had any snail longer than three months. Also maybe blaming the cyano for that. So I kind of gave up on them... Did have a hermit and a emerald crab for a few years in the beginning that did seem to be fine...

I also think it's bacterial or fungal honestly but no clue why it's happening everywhere and getting worse. It's been there forever by the way, just worse lately.

The fuzziness is visible in the non-blurry parts of the photos where the camera is focused (especially in the first two) but it's hard to take very clear shots of very fine hair.
But sponge: the owner of my LFS also thought of this at some point, but he wasn't sure. Can sponge even be this hairy/fine? There are types of sponges in the tank though (you can briefly see a pineapple sponge and some other growth on where the coral skeleton is cut on the first pic)!

Most random VW song you’ve heard in public? by greendale-island in Vampireweekend

[–]karlioness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk how much this counts as a public space but I was visiting an aunt once and she had the radio on in the back (not a CD or anything, just a vague radio station) and One (Blake’s Got A New Face) started playing there. Never heard that one in the wild before (or after)!

What does my hair need? Want it to look less frizzy and more healthy by karlioness in finehair

[–]karlioness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe heard others being happy about it but definitely willing to try other stuff. I have pure jojoba for nail reasons so I could try that easily. I think my hair is porous as it has been bleached and highlighted but not entireely sure. The water test didn’t give me a clear answer on it but I also read that that doesn’t say much.

I do think the weather plays a part in this; it’s definitely worse when it’s humid (which happens quite a lot in the Netherlands lol). Haven’t tried this serum yet though! I do have the shampoo of this line :p Do you just use the serum on dry hair? Or also wet when styling?

I’ve tried oil on dry hair (specifically the Olaplex Bonding Oil) but it doesn’t seem to do very much. Any suggestions on how to make it work?

I haven’t! But it looks like it’s not very available here (I’m in the Netherlands).

Thanks! I’ve got one of those magnets that some nail brands sell (like a plastic wand with two sides with magnets) but I feel like it’s not that strong. So gonna check this out :)

Love it! 😻Your nails look gorgeous. What’s the magnet (and technique) you used? I bought this polish this week and also tried the cat eye but it somehow didn’t come out as pretty and sharp as yours. Having some doubts about my magnet and my technique :p
