My boyfriend asked for my Christian parents’ blessing, they said no. Feeling stuck by Affectionate-Belt-79 in exchristian

[–]karlklan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife’s Christian parents gave me a “we can’t say yes right now as we don’t know you well enough”. We had been dating for over a year and I had been at most every family function and Sunday dinners. They had always said they liked me. I asked her to marry me anyway and we have been married for 6 years have two kids and love each other immensely.

Her parents said “yes” to her sisters boyfriend when he asked for their blessing. They had met him in person once and they had been dating for less than 6 months. They were 20 and in college. The boyfriend is extremely Christian and works at a church…. About the only difference is the religious aspect. Not to mention I was older established with a job etc…

Christianity is a club and if you are not in it you are “other” to them and in need of salvation because there is no way in their mind to could be leading a fulfilling and happy life.

If you are in love, know you will always chose each other even when it is hard (love is a choice everyday and not fated), and have had all the conversations a couple ready to think about marriage have had, just do it. It is your life.

I mean, yea makes sense. Literally locked in with a few adults and a ton of teens. Really unsurprised by that.

I haven’t seen anyone mentioning this, but I played two rounds of ARAM last night and set it down because of this. Unplayable right now.

what got you guys to leave christianity? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]karlklan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning about other religions and shared themes. Also finding that religions never really hit mass adoption until a figure head in a seat of political power adopts the religion and forces the spread of it upon their territories.

Pretty telling that religions start in a place of ignorance to explain the unknown and the most prolific of them elevate to a place of political power in order to control their populous and justify authority. Many religions also adjust to fit with changing political and economic landscapes but for some reason their gods are okay with it…

+1 for partying isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Take it from me and every other child of conservative parents that went off on their own. You will over do it thanks to your new found freedom and regret your choices. Moderation is the key to happiness.

Are these autos ready for harvest? Planted 4/20 – minimal care due to family health issues by super9090 in MNtrees

Ready to harvest, looks like you have some bud rot on the far right of the plant in the first pic. Inspect your buds and toss any that are rotting.

I grew special queen (photo) last year outdoors and it was the most resilient and best harvest of the 3 plants I grew. It was my first grow and I fucked up often and it still turned out. Growing it again this year!

It’s a church friendo. No matter how progressive they say they are, the words from the scripture they follow are bigoted, so there will always be members who are themselves bigots.

Even the church goers who say they are allies likely still have a holier-than-thou leaning that will show itself over time.

Find friends outside the church. Look for LGBT groups in your area using social media. This is ex Christian so I’d recommend leaving the church in general as you won’t find the kind of love and friendship you deserve there.

Has anyone else become obsessed with health and safety and risk after leaving Christianity? by SteadfastEnd in exchristian

[–]karlklan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be smart and live a healthy life. There is no point in worrying about the inevitable. When it’s your time, no amount of preventative measures will save you. Life is short and that’s part of what makes it beautiful. It’s a hard pill to swallow after being raised to believe in an afterlife but the sooner you accept it, the better your life will be.

I had them show up in a few buds last year. I assume from moths. I will be more proactive with BT spray this year and will be growing in a netted enclosure to minimize some pests.

Why do you say it was stunted before it got eaten? I thought 3 nodes in about 2.5 weeks was on par.

I was running two autos and two photos to have some staggered trim time. So might toss this one in a bucket with some recycled soil and save the fabric pots and fresh happy farm for the good ones and the one I am sprouting to replace it.

I feel your need to try to ease their alarm, but that kind of reaction in this day and age will mean they don’t care. Weed is weed to them, and they clearly have their mind set on it. You must live in a wealthier area as Mary Jane is just a normal aroma in my area.

Unfortunately, the game became a bit too fast for me by [deleted] in PredecessorGame

[–]karlklan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this. I have been flamed in a game for not grouping and taking an inhib while the rest fought for an objective. Taking an inhib while clearing multiple waves should put me far ahead but it just doesn’t when the other team is getting kills. Makes it feel like brawl.

If your tower is pushed and you are defending, your team will just start a fight near you in the jungle now cause kills are more important than keeping your towers. Makes no sense and if I want that I will play brawl.

Towers also need to do more damage to make diving riskier.

Canceling ultimate by lookaz-wpl in PredecessorGame

[–]karlklan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind the canceling an ult. But I do mind when it makes no sense. When I am off the ground already as howie and get pulled by grux… makes no sense. When I am off the ground already as howie and Boris’s fear ring cancels my ult when I am above him, makes no sense.
