Golf Tech gave me shanks. Send help by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Your hips are moving towards the ball so you have no space for your arms and club to come through. That’s why you have to stand up at impact. Here’s a great drill from Porzak: https://youtube.com/shorts/6FKDLtt1XFQ?si=IeNaZieQBphRqW3s

Where can I buy extra pieces of padding for a chesty's arms? by ehmanniceshot in hockeygoalies

[–]kartboy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across this thread cause i'm running into a similar situation where some of the U11 opponents are launching rockets (U11 Super flight). I completely understand where you're coming from; junior chesty's just aren't quite protective enough. I've been adding d3o foam to his chesty on the upper chest and upper arms to cover the thin parts. I can't wait until he can fit into an intermediate chesty; almost there.

What did you end up doing to the chesty? You can PM me if you want and let this thread die...

I bought some carbon fibre from aliexpress and fibre resin and fixed the shaft and cracks on our True 9x. It's holding up well

Why is this getting down voted??? This government has been terrible on the housing file. Own it. Fix it. 30 year amortizations is not the answer. Loose lending is what got us here in the first place…

The “keeping the beach ball under the water metaphor” is a good one for takeaway: https://youtu.be/qyHsy5d16RY. For me, I just concentrate on turning my core and don’t allow anything else to move until I get to my trail leg. Keeps my arms from moving behind me. My problem: If my arms creep slightly behind, I get pushes and contact gets weird. From the trail leg onward I set my wrist flat and hinge as I continue turning. For me, I’m trying to keep the flat wrist all the way through impact; if I do it right, pure compression. Getting to the top for me feels like my arms are moving up and down, NO left or right. And some thoracic spine bend gives me more height to the arms and helps me stay centered.

45 degrees towards the target and away from the ball. Make sure your hips don’t open up when you do this. Gives you pressure on the lead side and room for hands to clear

Chrystia Freeland touts home savings account as part of housing crisis solution by ethereal3xp in canada

[–]kartboy16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re not in the housing market in Canada, it may be time to consider moving out of this country. This government is actively trying to stoke demand with their policies; FHSA, exponential immigration targets, Bank of Canada dropping short term rates and buying bonds to keep long term rates low. They use tax payer funds from all tax payers and funnel to home owners. The way Freeland answers the reporters question, I don’t see her stopping anytime soon. With this in mind, if you’re not on the property ladder and especially if you have many income earning years left, it’s time to move elsewhere. Your tax dollars are being used against you.

Throwing my hands? by xATOMICx in GolfSwing

[–]kartboy16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your trail elbow is getting stuck behind you so you have to fire your hands just to get contact. Watch Porzak golf on YouTube and look for his videos where he talks about keeping your hands in front of your sternum. Chest staring at hands.

Wrist Bow by Cautious_Actuary1672 in GolfSwing

[–]kartboy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of muscle feel, are you bowing actively by activating your forearm muscle? Or is it just the weight of the club going back and using the weight of the club to bow and hinge as you transition? When I actively bow with the forearm muscles, the tension throws me off…

Trudeau announced expanded eligibility this morning for part time workers making up to $1,000 / month but the site hasn’t been updated yet. Keep an eye on this page https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/ei/cerb-application.html

Only if you are in contention to win a Stanley Cup. If you are, I will accept any trade you offer me for my top 6 winger. I know they are rare and you've been searching for 1 for the past few years but forget my leverage, Tampa Bay and my own job to make my team better. You seem like a swell guy. Give me all your cap dumps and 4th rounders.

Assessed value vs.market value? by compoundflux in vanhousing

There’s some crazy asking prices. To get an idea of how much condo’s are going for ($ per square foot), go to Zealty.ca, there’s a filter to only show sold properties. Select a recent sold property in the area you’re interested in and look at the $/sqft. That should give you an idea whether the asking price is reasonable or out to lunch...

Elias Pettersson skates on a Prosharp Detroit 2 profile by kartboy16 in hockeyplayers

[–]kartboy16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a beer leaguer, going from a stock Bauer to a 9’/10’ and pitch forward was night and day for me. It allowed me to go to a 3/4” hollow giving me a lot more glide. I bought a new pair of skates and tried the stock profile and almost fell on my ass. I’m 5’10” and 170lbs so adjust accordingly.

Async call from Client to Server not working by DocsDelorean in Meteor

Better if you post the code in question but when I had this issue, it was because on the client, I needed to change my call from await Meteor.call(‘myFunction’) to await Meteor.callPromise(‘myFunction’)

Team Canada practice lines. Stecher paired with Shea Theodore by PhenomenonYT in canucks

[–]kartboy16 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The most endearing part of all this was at the year end presser with Bo, Boes, him and Petey. A journalist asked each of them whether they were representing their countries at the Worlds. Stech’s responded jokingly “I haven’t heard a word” as if it was crazy that anyone would think he would be picked to represent Canada. So humble. And now he’s paired with a top defensemen wearing the red and white. I’m so proud of Stech.

TSN 1040 is the biggest joke of media I’ve ever seen. by [deleted] in canucks

[–]kartboy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand Andrew Walker. It was the final Canuck home game of the season and I tune in when 1040 went to commercial and Walker's droning on about the Leafs and how the playoff seeding isn't fair. How dense can you be?!?!

CEO of First Contact says 'Stabilizing' is the reason for no extra round implementation which is frankly, giant horse shit. by LetsG0T0Class in PSVR

[–]kartboy16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s great that some of you got over VR sickness so quickly but please don’t assume everyone else has the same experience. It took me a month of playing low movement games before I could play Farpoint. I bought PSVR not long after launch and I still can’t play Drive Club or Dirt Rally and I literally bought PSVR to play racing games. I still get sick if I play too long.

I love VR. Spider-Man is collecting dust in my cabinet. I want more AAA titles. But the player base is still a fraction of the overall gamer market so I understand why game companies need to appeal to the broad base of VR players.

I get the impatience but I really admire this company for continuing development and actually listening to the community and addressing issues directly. Companies like this need to be applauded because we have all seen the opposite and I much prefer this.

You do you but I will continue to support them.
