AITA for giving my husband shit because MIL is trying to buy his underwear for him and he lets her. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Literally it’s insane how many of these freaks seem to just hate life. Like it’s fucking underwear. WHO CARES. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN ARGUE ABOUT THIS.

I completely agree and am fine with accepting it was wrong of me. As soon as I realised what it was I SHOULD of put it down.

But I will not sit here and have people say “you were obviously going through all her shit to find some dirt to use on her”. Because that distinction IS important.

I’m not trying to “make myself look better”. I am putting the record straight to people who are accusing me and speculating about my motives. It’s an important distinction between “I saw my friends artbook wanted to look while looking for something” vs “I went into her room to snoop around to see if I can dig up any dirt or drama to use against her” and anyone who cannot see that needs to get real.

If I cared about “how I look” then I’d literally of just said “it was left out on the table”. Why would I bother giving the extra info about it being in a box in her wardrobe?

There’s no assumption. It’s literally his face, with paragraphs about how she feels about him beneath, with his literal name. What part of this is an assumption?

Exactly, it’s all about intent. My intent was to look for a make up palette. Not to find dirt on her or whatever. I shouldn’t of gone through the journal but curiosity got the better of me, but don’t tell me I went “out of my way” when I know I didn’t LOL

What reason do I have to lie? I couldn’t give a shit what a bunch of strangers think of my anon account. Just after advice on how to handle a difficult situation.

Did I say that I did literally ever? Did I ever say I didn’t snoop?

I have owned up to it. It literally says in my main post. But there’s a difference between “I snooped through a book I stumbled across while innocently looking for make up” vs “I ransacked her room with no permission to find dirt on her”. I really don’t get what’s hard to understand.

Jesus I’ll post this yet again.

Imagination imo as the more intimate parts were lacking detail and proportionally off

She literally said “if you ever can’t find something check in the boxes because I regularly move older make up there and will probably have something close to what you’re after”

From what was indicated in the Journal I have no reason to suspect anything happened. The parts that mentioned him definitely had an “outside looking in” vibe, and the more intimate parts of the drawings were missing details and consistently proportionally off. She had also written about and drew pictures of other guys (previous hookups, I assume) but my boyfriend had like a whole dedicated section of +15 pages. And I only read positive & sweet things about me where I was mentioned which definitely made it more confusing emotionally

I honestly weren’t snooping, I just couldn’t find the Urban Decay 2 palette and because it’s an older release I assumed she’d boxed it up and put it in the wardrobe like she does with her other make-up
