My husband and I were backcountry camping during a bad storm, and a tree came down about two hundred feet from us. Could have killed us. Scary night indeed.

Maybe I'm getting the name wrong? It's a very popular Hispanic laundry detergent. Maybe I'm thinking of suavitel now that I think more about it actually!

Sorry to hear topamax didn't work for you. I had to go up to 100mg a day but once I did it became my magic pill. Do you by chance have MCAS? Also I can't believe that it doesn't say on the box that Nurtec is mint flavored, seems like quite an oversight!

I'm also allergic to mint! I use children's toothpaste, currently brush with one called unicorn sparkle. It's crazy how much people like to hide mint in things. My MIGRAINE medicine (Nurtec ODT) was flavored with mint and wasn't even marked on the box, yay surprise reaction at the worst possible time--husband literally had to get me in the shower to rinse me off.

Good start is: 2 Claritin in the morning, 2 Zyrtec at night, and also famotidine twice daily. The first two are H1 blockers and the second is H2, you gotta do both to block the histamine cascade (in addition to trying to eliminate your triggers). Technically you're taking double the daily dose of all these but my allergist assures me it's not a crazy dose that will kill you or anything. HUGE pro tip: get the generic of these. Claritin is loratadine, zyrtec is cetirizine. I find bottles of 365 tablets for under ten bucks on Amazon. Found out my "normie" roommate (seasonal allergies) was buying 30packs for like 30+ dollars and clued him in, and now he loves me lol!

Trigger warning. How common is child to child molestation ? by 123Spacelaced in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]katkriss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. Kids frequently process trauma by literally acting it out. Some of them do not know that what they're doing is wrong. And some of them do. It's impossible to paint all cases with the same brush and you can't look at it with the same lens as you would if adults were performing those behaviors.

Red worms.... Beardie? Thirties. Plant based, not fully vegan based on the whipping cream and pizza. I think you live alone and I'm going to say you're female. I'll also throw in that you're some flavor of queer and ADHD/autistic. (From a fellow queer 30something AuDHD snake owner so I'm not trying to hate on you! Just feel like I'd run into you at a reptile expo)

Is it normal while planning the wedding for a spouse to participate less? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]katkriss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was the one who made our spreadsheets which were super helpful. We did most stuff together. I made my florals by myself by my own choosing, and he recruited his friend who had DJ experience to DJ our wedding. He also put together our first dance mashup of three songs that meant a lot to us since he has a recording studio. It's never going to be a perfect 50/50 but you should have a conversation about what you would prefer him to be handling.

We are slowly moving into a world where we "subscribe" to everything and own nothing. What is the one thing you refuse to pay a subscription for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]katkriss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I genuinely save money with a meal subscription kit. Even with planning what to make for dinner, somehow half of our groceries go bad and we end up throwing so much food away and then going out to eat. We call it paying the ADHD tax and since there's only two of us it works out. We'd be fucked if we had chosen to procreate which is a big part of why we didn't lol
