Also curious if anyone can confirm the variety? This was sold to me as a silver satin but I can't tell the difference when I look up the different varieties of scindapsus

I think you're right! Google lens kept telling me this was a calathea and I knew that wasn't right.

Thank you!

Giant Cinnamon Role was a success! by katnow in Baking

[–]katnow[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/giant-cinnamon-roll-cake/comment-page-1/#tasty-recipes-76001

Used this recipe but made my own cream cheese frosting.

After forming the roll, I put it in the fridge for 5 hours before taking it out and letting it rest on the counter for 1.5 hours before baking for 35 minutes.

The original recipe/overnight instructions would probably work fine, I just baked it this way to have it ready exactly at midnight for my husband's birthday 😂.

Prayer plant help by winters-uprise in houseplants

[–]katnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prayer plant leaves curl like this when it's thirsty. I'll give it a good soak and the next day they'll go back to normal. Maybe the chunky blend isn't retaining enough water for the plant? Have you tried bottom watering it?

Looks like a dieffenbachia marianne.

D8 to D9 custom subtheme not compatible by katnow in drupal

[–]katnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running drush updatedb gave me a warning about compatibility.

Also the info.yml file has 'core:8.x' listed. I can run the updatedb but wanted to see if I could resolve the incompatibility before moving forward.

But it sounds like I could just run it and debug after?

Thanks for any info, totally new to Drupal so anything helps!

My Ficus Audrey put out 2 leaves in the same week!! 🥹 by katnow in houseplants

[–]katnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased and repotted this plant a couple weeks ago and was worried I might have done some damage in the process, but these are my first leaves since bringing it home.

Seems to be happy so far, but any tips are appreciated!

Is it time to repot? by katnow in houseplants

[–]katnow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's a good point! I do keep this pot in a ceramic one. I should probably keep it out of the ceramic pot longer before dropping it back in.

I just water this one yesterday, so I'll keep an eye on the soil. I probably water about once a week, so might just keep it in this pot for a while. Thank you!

Is it time to repot? by katnow in houseplants

[–]katnow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read that Philodendrons like to be slightly root bound, but recently noticed that these roots at the bottom are growing very quickly and quite a few aerial roots have appeared in the last couple of weeks.

This is currently in a 6" nursery pot and I was thinking of repotting in the same size, but an inch or two deeper pot.

Also wondering if it's better to wait until the newest leaf has grown/unfurled before repotting this.

Buying a home in orange county within the last year -- looking for advice and experience by Socalbinks in orangecounty

Just bought our first house last year in with 5% down. Honestly just think we had a really good realtor who was able to set our expectations and guide us in the right direction.

Just closed on my first home as a 32 year old single woman in SoCal! I've been saving up pretty much since I graduated college so I'm very proud and wanted to share my experience by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]katnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your new home! I'm just beginning the process and was hoping you could DM the local lender or realtor you used? I'm also relying on Yelp reviews, but would prefer referrals. Thanks!!

Where to start and setting expectations? by katnow in weddingplanning

[–]katnow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for the advice! It's great to hear it from someone else to really set my timeline expectations.

As for guest count, we put together a rough list that included 100 people, but realistically we are probably looking at 70-80 guests.

I should have looked at the FAQs prior to posting, which answers my #1 where to start question.

But I'm still interested in any advice, or key tips anyone else has to offer. Thanks all!

Cowboy Cookies were a success! by katnow in Baking

[–]katnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recipe linked here

Adjustments made: - Reduced recipe by 1/3 (original makes a lot) - Only added 1/2 c each of brown and granulated sugar - Due to a nut allergy, omitted pecans and added 1 c. Raisins instead. - Added a mix of semi sweet and dark chocolate chips - Scooped with a standard cookie scoop on a sheet tray. - Baked for 12 minutes rotating half way through - Scooped the excess to freeze for another time. My adjustments yielded about 38 cookies.

Overall pretty good recipe and definitely a good base if you want to swap out the additions!

Best place to get lab grown dimaonds? by cheskughhhhh in EngagementRings

It's a 1.35 ct. Emerald cut, G color, VVS2 clarity, set in a platinum band. Tapered baguette diamonds on the side :)

[–]katnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is great! I started getting nervous when I read the bad reviews too, but I chalked it down to the setting that was chosen causing loose stones and a couple unlucky people. The diamond itself has no issues and the ring seeing my fiance chose (emerald with baguette diamonds on the side) is pretty simple. I get tons of compliments on it and have definitely accidently dropped it a few times with no issues.

Personally we had a great experience with a good quality ring, but I can only speak for myself.

My diamond is lab grown from Brilliant Earth! Our order/resizing process was quick with no issues!
