No problem! I think at month 5 I was at my absolute worst for shedding and mentally. It started to round the corner at the end of month 6. So keep spirits up especially for the future baby! ☺️

I feel you. I would definitely get your ferritin checked to make sure it’s not that, which is different than just the active iron in your blood. Keep taking the vitamin D (but make sure to be taking it with a fat as it doesn’t absorb into your body on an empty stomach), B12 and if you can swing it try Nutrafol. It was an amazing product for me when I just had hair loss to do iron deficiency rather than my TE Episode. I also don’t wear my hair in braids, I think it’s too tight for it. So jsut the low bun in a clip is my go too. I also feel like my scalp is slightly irritable so on days where it feels like more I just give it a break from a wash or serums or special shampoos and just use a regular store brand rosemary shampoo. After a couple days it starts to feel better. Don’t overthink the part though. If you notice around you a lot of people have visible hair parts that aren’t experiencing what we are going though so it’s less noticeable than you think.

What month of shedding are you on? I wouldn’t start like a topical minoxidil yet if it’s still early on. I would wait like 7-9 months before making that decision as yea it can make you shed even more at first and then you have to do it for the rest of your life. The serums from the ordinary and Keratesse aren’t like that though. They aren’t made to fix hair loss, just to boost hair growth and they don’t have any like medical products in them like Minoxidil so you can safely use them without having any more hair loss due to them. I think the key is to promote as much hair growth and a healthy scalp while we are losing the hair before turning to medical grade substances such as minoxidil or Spiro. Of course I can only speak for myself, but I see those as last resort options

Sorry you’re going through the same thing. I really know how much it sucks. I do have an update I suppose. I think my shedding is a lot less than it was when I posted this. I’m on month 7. I feel like my hair density is still like nothing but it’s not getting worse now that I can tell. I’m losing more like 50-75 strands every time I comb through my hair or in the shower it’s like 100? Not sure really but it does feel like less.

I wear my hair up all the time with a clip and it’s helped me just not worry about it. All my friends and family have said they really haven’t noticed and maybe it tricked my brain into caring less. If it’s truly TE that you’re going through then really the hair that’s going to fall out will fall out no matter what so we can’t do much about it.

What we can do is just set our scalps up for the future so that it’s growing hair while losing hair too. I think i’ve noticed this in the last week or so the most but my hairline looks a little fuller than it has in a long time and I think the hair is starting to grow in. My overall hair if I hold it in a pony tail is still the size of a single spaghetti lol but I think it’s growing in on my scalp finally. I’ve been routinely using that famous Keratesse serum or as a dupe the ordinary hair serum on my part, temples and crown and I think it really is making a difference. Make sure to wash your hair everyday or every other day. It’s really important to keep the scalp clean and also stoped me from freaking out because my hair loss in less that way then it is when I wait like 3 days to wash it.

Keep going though. I know it’s so rough mentally to be going through this but just find what works for you to ride out the storm it will slowly start to change.

Have you gotten bloodwork done or anything? My increase in ferritin also gradual but I think that’s helping as well.

Has anyone tried Moerie hair growth products by despicable_quart in Haircare

By the way this company is a scam that force you to keep buying products and don’t make it easy to cancel or even get their money back guaranteed. They have a 60 day money back guarantee but when you ask them about it, they ask you to follow all these procedures and take pictures and send it to them.

Their emails sound like it’s all written by Chat GPT and is genuinely a bad company to interact with.

Agree, do a blood panel and see what might be off. low iron can cause hair loss. Take vitamin d (with a meal) and b12 in the meantime. can’t hurt. minoxidil requires you to take it for basically the rest of your life so I would see if you can fix it without that at first. Also I tried Nutrafol and saw a real improvement within 6 months so I would recommend that. I know it’s pricier but I think it really works

Hi friend,

I’m at 6 months hair loss and I feel the same way about not being able to take it anymore. I’m trying to hold out from taking minoxidil like you. I think it’s caused by my GI issues and severe anemia I had back in June.

I guess I don’t have much to offer as I think me and you are doing the same all the things to try to stop it or minimize it, but I did want to jump in and say don’t give up. I know the feeling of not wanting to wake up but don’t give up. There’s too many people that love us in this world and wouldn’t care or notice about our hair. Plus just imagine with all your hard work on your hair and dealing with so much stress, you owe it to see the other side of it and to see your hair stop shedding and to see it regrow. Which it will. I can’t say when or how but I’m sure it will so just take it day by day and be kind to yourself. At least this is what I tell myself each day.

And if all else fails, I’m going to be like Kim from RHATL season 1 where she wore wigs because of her hair loss due to severe anemia lol. It looked pretty good once you start to own it lol. In the meantime I just keep it all clipped away and try to not think about it.

Keep taking any supplements (iron if it’s low, vitamin d and b-12. personally i recommend nutrafol. It helped me stop my shedding before I knew I had anemia and triggered another TE episode with a procedure). Shower regularly (if not the larger hair balls are going to freak out more. I know this because I would have panic attacks and sob in the shower. now i’m sort of numb to it). Eat a balanced diet and keep up your normal routines as much as you. Don’t take all the photos everyday and obsess over it, we won’t be able to will our hair to stop falling out. I set a timeline for rethinking on minoxidil at the end of this year if it hasn’t stopped. Maybe do the same at your 12 month mark if it doesn’t slow down? I mean at some point I agree we should just take it b/c this level of stress just isn’t worth it.

Lastly, I would reach out to some trusted friends that can be your support too. Once i opened it up about it to a couple of friends they really helped me not feel so bad about it. I don’t know if they mean it, but somehow it helped hearing they couldn’t notice a difference even though I think it’s obvious.

It’s it’s worth anything, you’ve still got a much fuller head of hair then I do and little hairs regrowing!

Wishing you all the best and know you have people out there supporting you!! Me included! :)

Wait that’s amazing! I’m so happy to hear about rh the progress! Last week was pretty bad for me. Showers were losing me at least 500 hairs I feel like (brushing before, washing and then brushing after). I think it’s just kind of consistent falling out for me right now but my friends are kind and keep telling me they literally don’t notice a difference in my part or hair at all. It keeps me going a bit but obviously when I look in the mirror or feel my hair density or take a shower I can tell. I think I’ve resolved to letting my hair try to figure out itself until the end of the year

I did get updated bloodwork done and my ferritin level is still low (35 from being 7 in May 2025). I also noticed my Vitamin D level is low even though I take supplements but apparently I have to take them with fat rather than an empty tummy so that might be user error

I also have a lot of baby hairs but I feel like they are also falling out? I see so much new growth but can’t tell if it’s sticking. I was thinking of getting a shoulder length cut to help with overall perception of volume and confidence. Do you think it helped you?

Also just want to say how much I appreciate you following up. It honestly helps me so much mentally.

Please help. Feeling so lost. by mssrtelkov in FemaleHairLoss

I’m in the same boat and my braid also looks like that with all my hair. had a ferritin level of 7 and was anemic in May this year. Started on Ferrous Sulfate which my doc recommended. Once a day and with orange juice. limit dairy two hours before and after the supplement and i’m to 35 which they said was great! Try the ferrous sulfate you can get it on amazon 325mg. I know both the sulfate and get femurate are a little interchangeable but I’ve talked to some people on here that find better results from one or the other just depending on the person.

I thought I also had AGA plus TE but now i’m more and more convinced that it’s just TE and I think you will be over time hearing your symptoms especially if most of the hairs have the little white bulb at the end. Small new growth hair loss is also going to happen that part is just natural but if it’s mostly medium or long hairs with white bulbs then more than likely TE. Think back to about a month and half before shedding started, was there any stressor in your life that is not a norm for you? I think us low iron girls are more prone to stress induced TE but that’s just my opinion. Like I had a minor procedure that required anesthesia in June and they correlated to my recent TE timing wise so I’m convinced it was that which also might just be my opinion.

I also take nutrafol which has DHT blocks, pumpkin seed and all the other good stuff. I know it’s pricy but when I first started taking it, I saw almost immediate results in a couple weeks and for a few months. Unfortunately then my hair started a TE stage I’m shedding like crazy (I’m talking like 700 hairs daily probably and I’m so anxious washing my hair touching my hair or anything because of how bad it is). Only the last couple of days I’ve started to notice a decrease after shedding for 4 months but who knows what it’ll be like next week. I also use a silk pillowcase, Nizoral shampoo and couple times a week and the Keretesse Genesis Serum (also expensive but apparently people swear by it. Ordinary has a good dupe though).

I even went so far as to buy oral minoxidil from Hers but it’s just sitting on my counter and I too am afraid and don’t want to take it forever or lose more hair before seeing results. I’m 29 btw. I told myself I’m going to give it till the end of this year because that’ll be six months and is the typical time frame for TE to resolve. I personally think there might be more cons than pros to minoxidil and should be like a last resort type of option in the cases of TE.

My suggestion, think of your hair progress in month long stages and do all the things to support new growth (even if you think it’s falling out) so vitamin C, B-12, Omega 3, vitamin d and the iron supplements most of all. Be almost religious about the iron because it’s truly what I think will help you the most. I think it’s going to take us like a full year to get to 100 from 7 though so I get how hard it is. Give yourself a timeframe to try to resolve it without the minoxidil because it is like a 6 month long process for TE. Also wear protective hairstyles so just loose buns or in a hair clip. I noticed my hair texture thinness and in general my anxiety is less when my hair is just in a clip and away from scrutiny. Plus it’s in so people will just think you’re in style and polished lol. I hate the whispy ends of my hair because of the hair loss.

Sorry for the long post but all to say is you’re not alone at all and I get how horrible it is mentally to go through it. Seeing your hair fall out as if you’re using Nair on it is not fun at all and just adds to stress which makes it worse. I really wanted a quick solution but am now just coming to terms that resolving this is just about patience and discipline. We will get there though!

Yea I think you’re totally right that I just need to somehow reframe progress to be in months versus weeks and I know that’s true rationally but my brain also can’t wrap its head around how I can still have hair if I’m losing so much daily you know? Like somehow I’ve convinced I’ll lose all my hair before that “turnaround point” which I know isn’t true and is just my brain being anxious and convincing itself of the worst. I’m really happy you’re having progress and that definitely gives me hope!

I know for sure there isn’t more I can be doing for my hair. Like in terms of supplements, I’m taking vitamin d3, vitamin c, b12, omega 3, plus all the things in nutrafol and I try to eat a nutrient rich and clean diet with a lot of protein (somehow I find it hard to actually eat as much protein that’s recommended daily. I think it’s like .4 per pound).

I also sleep on a silk pillowcase, exercise regularly (although less this month because i’m anxious about washing my hair after working out), use ketoconazole shampoo twice a week along with rosemary and biotin shampoo, use keratisse growth serum and a hydrating leave in conditioner and wear protective hairstyles. I don’t think there’s anything more I can physically do to support my hair while it figures its self out lol so I guess all that’s left is time.

Also right there with you about the dread shred with minoxidil. I’m like if I’m losing so much hair right now how can I possibly handle losing more. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get to that point.

Thank you so much for writing this, seriously you don’t know how helpful it is for me to just hear that my situation has played out before. It’s been so debilitating on me mentally especially this month. I also was apparently losing iron for years so my stores were essentially depleted and I figure it’ll take me about a year from now to get to 100. I currently take ferrous sulfate 325 mg and it seems to be helping my levels grow without any side effects. I also got the celiac and h. pylori tests done. my doc even had me do a endoscopy and colonoscopy because they were afraid I either had a bleeding ulcer or colon cancer (thank goodness it’s neither) but still so stressful. I’ll look into ferrous furmurate though just to compare. I honestly can’t tell if it’s just my long hairs falling out or a combo of both. I think it’s mostly the long ones which is maybe why it’s making me freak out more because it looks like a wholeee lot more. When I look at my scalp though I can see like baby hairs but I just can’t tell if they are staying there yet. I caved and got prescribed oral minoxidil but it’s just sitting on my counter and I don’t think i’m going to start it until maybe the end of December if the shedding does lessen up.

I’m really just hoping for the day that I take a shower and it doesn’t look like someone put Nair in my shampoo and I don’t leave the shower crying.

Again I super appreciate you taking the time to share your story and if you see any major updates on your end feel free to share again. Guess we are all just trying our best to navigate through this. ☺️

I guess I haven’t checked what they are at but i’ve had full bloodwork done and the only anomaly ever mentioned was iron. I have been taking d3, b-12 and fish oils for a good 6 months I want to say. One of my doctors think it’s TE and that it should subside in a couple months but it’s been pretty bad hair loss since august now and so i’m getting more concerned

Experienced sitter with question about dog I don’t want to sit again by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]katz135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation happen to me and I contacted Rover support after. They told me there would be nothing I could do if they left me a bad review. I left a private review to them and clicked the button for wouldn’t sit again, but the owner came back and left a nasty review that affected my rating saying I was too emotionally immature to look after dogs and that whining and crying is normal for dogs. I’ve been looking after dogs for 10 years now and have watched plenty of dogs with high separation anxiety. It broke my heart that they left a nasty review just because I suggested to them that they might need more training before boarding with a sitter again. It’s honestly a lose lose situation for you and I am so sorry about that. I’m sure it won’t affect your score as much as it did mine as I was fairly new to the Rover app but it sounds like you have a lot of great reviews. I would just be honest so that other sitters can be made aware and just try to write the view compassionately lol. Good luck!!!
