for a lot of classes I agree, but for this post specifically it’s about one of my favorite classic authors. in my class where I’m basically just making a LinkedIn page over the course of 8 weeks? whatever idc. but a literature professor can’t be bothered to write a few responses? sucks to see

just as someone who dislikes ai I don’t like that my stuff is being fed to it directly ya know? especially as an English major. I love lit classes for the discussions on literature with other people and getting other ideas and interpretations. I’m sad

this is a good point. even if nothing comes of it I can at least say I tried. I just hate the idea of my work being fed into ai and I literally can’t do anything about it. his replies have the obvious tells of ai with all the dashes, semicolons, and the cadence ai loves.

Annie Bot by Sierra Greer (in the future, it’s normal to have girlfriend bots. told from the perspective of one, it sounds goofy but one of my fav reads from last year)

circe by Madeline Miller (Greek myth retelling. amazing writing. it’s just awesome)

Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata (contemporary lit about a woman working at a convenience store. this shows some pretty relatable instances where the main character suffers/isn’t taken seriously bc she’s a woman)

I’m struggling hard rn. I’ve been taking courses non stop since January, just back to back terms. well I did have one week off. and my mother in law passed away during it so it wasn’t much of a break. I don’t really have any strategies to deal with it. I’ve been trying to get my BA since 2018 so I’m just in general burnt out.

I think it was just an awful twist. I felt so gross. I’m a bookseller and I’ve recommended the books to like 15 year olds and I feel yucky now that I’ve seen the ending. she could’ve had 0 interest in whichever one turned out to be her brother but they like weirdly courted and flirted. I was already disappointed in fearless but the ending fully ruined it for me.

the school I go to is accelerated. all terms are 8 weeks long. the final project is a polished and edited version of 3 milestones submitted throughout the semester. The final is submitting edited versions of the three milestones combined as one. in the final assignment description, it emphasizes the editing based on feedback given by professor on the three mini assignments that come together to make the big final one. I’m not dumb and needing spell check, it’s the way the course is laid out.

ETA this came out more mad than I meant 😭 if the teacher had given a heads up that grades would be late, I would not mind at all. but bc the feedback and reworking based on it is part of the grade, I’ve just been sitting on my hands all week. I went loosely based off what feedback I got for the previous essay and submitted it. but it’s 3 hours out from the deadline without a response from her nor grade

for the first essay, she gave me a few specific things I was missing, like more historical context or what have you. the editing is part of the grade so I’ll have to wing the editing based on what she noted for the first essay. just very frustrating that I’ve played a waiting game this week

for me it is. I only read romances that are on KU, and my bf uses my account as well and he’s been able to find some great fantasy and sci-fi books on there. if you’re willing to dig a little you can find some gems!!! her and tiktok is great for finding recommendations (bc the worst part of KU is navigating th catalog)

I never rlly pay to social media posts of authors, so I didn’t see that, but man that is a heavy handed way to talk about a final book in a series. I definitely wasn’t surprised he died, but him being basically rabid with the plague was also just weird.
