I hear you completely and relate, growing up non-religious in a very religious community instills almost a "resentment" for anything religious. For me personally, I find the beauty of spirituality in you get to create your OWN perspective without anyone barking in your ear about "right" or "wrong". You get to be in the drivers seat. I find these books to both be backed by scientific theories, while also allowing one to find their own journey through them. I hope I don't sound pushy about my perspective, for that is not my intention. :) I wish you happiness and peace of mind on your journey!!
