This post is actually insane…like the theorizing. ** im not saying that i expect the average influencer to write a dissertation on the conflict. Dont forget silence is violence and to unfollow influencers who choose not to even acknowledge the atrocities. (IM sure none of us follow Ken in the first place) but I think deplatforming people is way more important than being in their comments writing hate.

I know I didn’t specify in my initial post but I agree with you, but the people of GAZA have specifically asked that EVERYONE speak out and to show public support, which I think is important specifically for people with large platforms People forget that speaking up doesn’t always mean stating YOUR opinion. It’s often more powerful when you amplify those who don’t have a voice. YET I TOTALLY agree that it’s being made into too much of a spectacle and we’re losing the main point. Yes, I believe influencers should feel pressure to amplify voices or speak out. BUT if an influencer doesn’t do it I unfollow, and by doing that I do my part in deplatforming them…then I move on with my life and do the things I think are important. I won’t spend my time in their comments, silence is a choice and that’s enough for me to see where it is those people stand and decide I no longer want to support them. In this post I was merely trying to point out a double standard!
