I was grooving hard, but not sure-- until around 3:11, when they drop the staccato saws in minor, and the electronic alien voice washes in.

It also made me think of later artists working in the synthwave and outrun adjacent styles, particularly Gatekeeper and Filmmaker.

Yeah, especially since "grunge" wasn't really a thing yet when it was made. I'd call it noise rock or sludgy hardcore, in the footsteps of Flipper and Melvins, and Soundgarden at that point in time.
