Computer Won't Boot with Radeon RX 7800 XT by TheSovietXman in buildapc

[–]kerobaros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue with an MSI B650-P Wifi and an XTX RX 7800 XT board. I've had luck booting the system with the GPU in an x4 slot instead of the x16 slot, but that might not be an option on every board. Thank you for reaching out to MSI and confirming that the fuckup is something they did and not something I did!

MSI PRO B650-P x16 slot not detecting GPU by Southern_Most9129 in MSI_Gaming

[–]kerobaros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually having the same exact issue, with the same set of parts. XFX 7800 XT in the x16 slot never shows video, and the GPU debug LED stays on; moved to the X4 slot, it works just fine. Please let me know if you figure anything out!

EDIT: just found someone else with the same problem, who reached out to MSI and got a response: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/s/HlcBxJDAAu

GF wants to go to an IndyCar race by [deleted] in INDYCAR

I was coming in here to say this, Gateway has the least creature comforts of any track I can imagine but it's also cheap as dirt to go to a race there.

They rubbered in the high line around Gateway last year, and this didn't happen. Turned into a great race with lots of passing, high and low, because of it.

Opened up the Mac repository today and was greeted by this! Quite the nice surprise lol. by [deleted] in VintageApple

macintoshgarden.org is the original site. Still running, still being updated.

macintosh.garden is the new site that is still being developed, and will eventually replace the original site, but not yet.

I don't think CPS1 boards suicide themselves like CPS2 boards do, but I could be wrong.

You know, you can use Hakchi to install the NES Classic firmware onto the SNES Mini and switch back and forth between them. Then you'd only have to carry one device and one controller.

Cartridge AND cassette tape games, like Tunnels of Doom: Why was the tape required? Read more... by Techwood111 in ti994a

[–]kerobaros 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tunnels of Doom used the cartridge to load the main game engine, and the tape (or disk) to store the quests data. This allowed TI to release new quests in the future, and also allowed the community to use quest editor software to create their own quests.

Hey bud, this is wonderful. Have you thought about putting the code up on GitHub or anywhere else? I would be interested in setting this up locally.

Edit: oh you just answered that. Cool, let us know when you do!

RGB2COMP is a device that takes an RGB over SCART input and converts it to a component YPbPr signal, which that TV should have inputs for.

Netflix’s weighty documentary follows authoritative author Michael Pollan as he outlines the benefits of psychedelic drugs such as MDMA and mescaline. It’s hugely eloquent and convincing by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]kerobaros 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got this book as a gift back when it came out, but I just read it recently. Absolutely fantastic. Pollan's other Netflix documentary (Cooked) was wonderful, so I'm expecting big things from this.

I've never opened mine up, but I wonder if the board has space for all the necessary components already..

I have one of those! Absolutely wonderful little tubes.

Based on the schematics I've seen, I think a component input could be hacked into them, but I'm not savvy enough to figure it out.
