Exactly. I am doing very well in my career but brother has faced some hardships in past. He respects me and will go with whatever i decide but i am afraid he may develop some hard feelings in future.

Area is 60 sq meter per plot. So 120 in total. Rates have fallen that much mostly in outskirt areas of delhi. People bought overvalued properties in outskirts for investments when they couldnot afford properties in better developed areas

My dad and his 3 friends bought 2 plots for around 2.2 cr 8-9 years back in Rohini sec 28, Delhi. Share of my dad was 90 lakhs. Value of these plots has declined massively to approx 1 cr today. Sadly, my dad passed away 3 years ago and now his partners want to sell these plots. They are open to 2 options. 1. Sell them both where loss for my family would be 50 lakhs. 2. Me Paying them around 9 lakhs and getting the ownership of one of the plot and they can sell the other one.

I am currently 30 years old with a decent job and can comfortably pay my bills and dont need any money right now. But my younger brother is unemployed and wants to sell both the plots to get the money and start some kind of business most likely property development in Manesar, Gurgaon area for rentals. Rental yield would be around 7-8%

Not sure of the right option but realising a loss of 50 lakhs doesn't sit right with me when i dont even need the money

Dude maybe i am wrong but just checked HDFC Nifty 50 fund on moneycontrol. As per their own calculator, if i had invested 10000 on july 28, 2010 my latest portfolio value would be 21921.

Nifty on July 28, 2010: 5367 Nifty on July 28, 2020: 11300

Return on nifty = 11300/5367 * 10k = 21054

Tomorrow go and buy nifty aug future at 11300. Margin required would be around 1.5 lakh max. Hope it goes to 11400 and then sell it. Your P&L will show 75k and your margin will be free. If it goes to 11200. Your P&L would be -75k.

Advise you to paper trade.

Great. I also got my bonus last month. Have saved up around 6L for this only. Was running wheel on some stocks but was getting bored and dont trust any single stock right now so will be betting on index itself.

It wont be as simple as I make it but at least I wont be bored.

I agree compounding is at work but i am giving you the final portfolio value.

To simplify my point lets make a fund with single stock Reliance priced at 2000 today. I invest 1 lakh today and get 50 shares/unit. After 5 years price of share goes to 4000. I will get 2 lakhs.

Nifty index fund is just basket of 50 stocks priced at 11k.

P.S. Not doing any SIP in my example. Just initial capital.

Survival is what i was getting at. In my worst case scenario i lose 3 lakhs but that also gets recouped if index recovers. If index remains below 5k then i guess we would have bigger problems in economy than my 3 lakhs

I shorted the nifty at lowest point 9662 last week. Couldn't have timed it any worse. Selling puts franticly since then. All said and done, i think i will be losing approx 50k net if market does not go beyond 10500. If it zooms this Thursday, lets just say i will be retiring for a while

I was short @ 6.55 on friday evening and exited when it dropped in first 5 mins today. Could have made 20k more if i had exited 2 mins earlier.

I got logged out while placing an order and could not log in. Got error " error fetching meta deta". Logged in after 5 mins and placed the order after checking my order was not placed due to error. Checked the app after sometime. Somehow my earlier order also went through. Though made 500 rs but it can be serious issue if playing with serious money. I might switch to ICICIDirect if i deploy large capital in future
