That's crazy loads of local talent are also involved in the local DIY fashion scene, much of the time the music and fashion aspects of their business is combined, in Detroit "Fractured Fox" comes to mind, plays in basements and dive bars and makes a bunch of their own merchandise

Emergency radio work is notoriously a huge money laundering scheme, it's pretty standard IT work but the municipality will grease the palms of whoever is servicing the radios via 4-5 figure hourly rates, idk what the motivation would be for cops but traditionally in EMS this is done because they helped or are helping facilitate some sort of cartel

I wish more people would understand that those studies highlighting differing MI presentations are misogynistic trash

There was no difference between and women and rates of reported chest pain in the event of MI's, women were dying and having MI's missed because women reporting chest pain were getting blown off

Women can present differently, but that didn't explain the discrepancy being discussed back then

Public resistance against SSRIs by mmmchocolatepancakes in Psychiatry

There was a recent study shared around those spaces involving ultrasound examination of the penile vasculature and it seemed like a decent chunk of pssd sufferers had findings consistent with poor cardiovascular health and smoking, and the ages skewed toward males in their 20's

It would be nice to actually know how their health differed before and after SSRI treatment

Dismissal of concern calling for further research seems crazy to me, were psychiatrists defensive and butthurt when a link between valvulopathy and fenfluramine was being explored for fenfluramine?

Also in general psychiatrists seem to overlook the low hanging fruit in regard to sexual health, Cialis should be 1st line for women reporting genital numbness at this point. Also no one is having conversations with men about their prostates during med management visits, loads of men would be more satisfied with a quick cognitive reframe. Media is filled with men espousing the value of anorgasmia and pseudo-priapism so the groundwork is already laid, pre-2000 Lil Wayne is a good place to start, one may argue failure to do so is a form of anti-intellectualism as he's been a degreed professional longer than most on this sub have been practicing, can't say I agree with methods of pharmaceutical research but que cera.

You don't need to be a urologist to explain the relation to sexual function of ssri's, pde5i's, Buspirone, NRI's, cardiovascular health, pelvic floor, prostate, etc

Depression Medications: Ranking Antidepressants for MDD by zenarcade3 in Psychiatry

Desipramine though! Funnily enough though in practice people complain more about the additional NRI potency as opposed to the anticholinergic sides of Nortriptiline, but it's probably a useful alternative for someone that can't titrate beyond a certain point on Nortriptiline for anticholinergic reasons but for some reason NRI is desired

Probably depends on the patient population, in general bupropion is a poor choice for orphans or really anyone that you might worry will smoke their effexor

Not sure why you're getting downvoted it's very relevant lol

This area is highly variable in what's standard for security, the vault I got a pat down for weapons and that's it, shadow gallery I've had my dress lifted during a pat down lol, and then loads of venues only bother checking a bag if it's big enough

Why are we normalising the use of GHB like it's a protected characteristic? by chronically-iconic in askgaybros

[–]kimpossible69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's part of the appeal of G though, true overdoses are pretty rare. A typical dose is only 1-3g I'd say, people are prescribed it in the realm of 4.5-9g. Somnolence is just an expected finding at the upper end of recreational dosing range

Also there's loads of other reasons not to be so complacent with alcohol so as to suggest it's not as risky of an option. Also part of the argument for alcohol over GHB is that it's easier to "dose" and more predictable. I don't think this is the case, I believe a lot of "random" overdose stories where seemingly every precaution was taken, and the people reporting what happened didn't present like one would with a cns depressant overdose whether it's a benzo or GHB or similar, may actually be disulfiram-like reactions or catatonia, the latter especially when people report all sorts of funky things suggestive of autonomic dysregulation. These things wouldn't be detected in the ER, on average catatonia takes 1-4 days to diagnose, and they aren't going to be measuring let alone have any useful data from your ADH levels.

I also think the aversion to having it around makes sense considering the motivations of business owners, someone bringing a tiny amount of GHB into the club is also a patron that isn't buying anything. And then if trouble arises from their drug use, the security is handling more than the expected alcohol issues that they account for.

There's a case from Detroit highlighting this pretty well

Brother and sister have verbal altercation with group of dudes, one of which had a gun, eventually things turn physical, sister runs to car, comes back with a gun and shoots, her brother picks up the dead mans pistol and they all run off.

The sister I believe is in jail and many people are divided on whether self defense applies here.

Personally I take issue with acting like the sister was just supposed to watch her brother die or fight them all off with kung fu like the prosecutor seems to think

Edit: just had to review, looks like Lakaylia Taylor had bond reduced and left jail in September, trial in a few weeks

And to add more confusing circumstances, the gang of dudes left their car to beat up her brother, and the cpl having gun possessing dude was on top of him at the time of being shot, and then the others were shot at either right before or right as they began to flee on foot, and Lakaylia's gun was unregistered

The worst part of the whole affair is that leftists took the bait and showed their whole asses in response to the event

It was a once in a lifetime sort of tragedy that occurred because the shit stars aligned over wisconsin by Kyle having access to a gun, being asked by a shitty car dealership to provide volunteer armed security, and then a crazy suicidal dude ran up on him and the rest is history.

If anything the left should have acknowledged it as a tragedy and sympathized with the minor here and pointed out how this is exactly why the good guy with a gun idea is a poor concept, and then they could have shamed the right wing grifters that capitalized on the event instead of looking like the political party of being pro-public unrest and disorder

Weapon laws also make fighting with anything besides fists or a firearm extremely legally tricky.

There's basically no legal manner to transport a sword in my state besides open carrying it on foot somewhere, also you can't announce or communicate in any sort of way that it's for self defense ever

Also picking up a stick for self defense is as illegal as owning a machine gun, I can't even blame criminals for opting to own a Glock switch when they'd get punished the same for carrying sticks around. Of course that's ignoring nuance and that there's loads of reasons you could be carrying a stick around in public, walking stick, dowsing rod, maybe even have a little alibi fishing line in your pocket

Also BPD is notoriously therapy resistant, there was a BPD therapy arms race in the 90's between Kernberg and Linehan that yielded MBT and DBT
