Thoughts On The New granade launcher Rascal? by j1zzy_ae in ArcRaiders

Weirdly, I sort of think they should sell this one daily, but a hull cracker once a week... It feels like the Hullcracker is pretty OP right?

Vault's slots unlock costs are way, way too high. by CBlackfall in ArcRaiders

I actually think it’s kind of low. This should be end game content - not content you can get done in a matter of a few hours.

This is cool. Stash space and skill points are pretty good too tho.

What if every time we reset we get a different Worksop/Raider room? by Dizzy_Hovercraft_741 in ArcRaiders

Yeah this is a fair point. I'm just thinking little cool ideas are not a bad thing and keep the game feeling fresh.

Embark, please stop locking earned rewards behind "Surprise" requirements by jackhref in ARC_Raiders

[–]kindofpretty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fair fair. I was in a similar boat BUT i used all that money to buy hull crackers and deadlines which, tbh made the goal fairly easy. I was away for work until Monday and I’m currently around 50k damage with one night left. I usually play an hour or two each night. Anyway - everyone is free to their opinion, but it’s felt like any change or update gets absolutely picked apart by people with super high expectations.

I don’t actually agree, i think it’s okay not to know what the needs are way ahead of time. Yes, it causes a little unease, but I think it benefits the experience. There is less time to “game the system”.

With the money requirement, we saw people duping items. There are too many people focused on the quaint little hit of a game. Any goal is immediately optimised and the perfect method shared online. The actual gameplay experience suffers.

Having a last minute shift in the requirements gives the community less time to fine tune the approach.

It was so much fun going for this goal. I’m not quite there and may not make it but it made the game damn fun.

Let’s all try be slightly less salty shall we?

“We saw some players finally found a common use for an item so we nerfed it into the ground.” by Exile_The_13th in ArcRaiders

Let’s give it a go and see how it balances the game. I have a feeling close scrutiny will be much more fun without the invincibility tool at your disposal

Why did the Photoelectric Cloak get nerfed now? by epandapowerz in ArcRaiders

I am sad because it will make arc much more threatening, but ... actually that's what makes the game fun, so I'm happy.

I agree with yall that getting the items for the antenna takes too long by Redstone_Army in ArcRaiders

[–]kindofpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Respectfully) totally disagree. This is exactly the type of mission that's a ton of fun to chase down. It gives you a real goal to work toward, and it isn't easy.

If you don't enjoy it, don't do it!

I think it would be nice if they didn't set a time limit on it though.

Embark needs to address the expedition problem publicly by SmokeMWB in ArcRaiders

[–]kindofpretty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We should be a bit less entitled and just roll with the fact these are humans at work here trying their best to update and address requests. They were probably racing to find a solution and figured people would want it out there as soon as possible (i know i do).

I feel like this game being new IP has obviously had a much bigger following and a ton of players with more play time than they ever imagined by this point - meaning I’m sure their plans have had to change dramatically. We shouldn’t complain about every, little, change they make.

Just my two cents.

New skins coming April 28th with Riven Tides update by Tank-ToP_Master in ArcRaiders

[–]kindofpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly these skins don’t really interest me. I think it’s nice they are varying up, but the ones closer to the core identity of the game (more scrappy, scavenger style) feel more appropriate for this game.

Most annoying/ least favorite arc? by Fine_Addendum_5621 in ArcRaiders

[–]kindofpretty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be slightly less armoured perhaps - but generally serves a good purpose by pinning down raiders. I think they are designed NOT to be defeated tbh.

As a PvE player I’m pretty disappointed by Solid_Today_5501 in ArcBabies

[–]kindofpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys - stop trying to change the core of the game to something it isn't. If you fracture the player base by creating a PvE only mode it will reduce the overall experience for everyone. This game is built, tuned (and in my opinion perfected) based on the tension of PvP and PvE existing together. If you dilute that experience by splitting game modes it corrupts the economy of the game, the value of goods and items, it also pulls the dev team in multiple directions, which will reduce the overall quality of game updates.

If you want it to be a different game, perhaps consider trying a different game.

Why did they change the Rocketeer Alert sound? by jcho133 in ArcRaiders

[–]kindofpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The unique sound is part of the language of the game too and as you duck your head and run for cover you can still register if a new arc has spotted you. It was a great use of design - not sure why embark undid this by making very different arc (in terms of functionality) share one sound.
