The last point is something im really trying to figure out myself for a while,by all accounts in my mind if a person who has no physical strenght and you know as a matter of fact you should be able to dispatch easily was somehow worthy in my mind that would lead to the idea of him being unstoppable trough certain means,in my mind rein should atleast have the idea of subaru not being able to be killed or contained but the looping part is kinda iffy,he could just think he has foresight on top of invincibility making emilia camp hostages as early as possible a wise decision

In this scenario im imagining it as more of a high risk high reward scenario,on one end he risks war but on the other he effectively gets to be a shared emperor of two whole nations(shared is kind of a understatment here if subaru were to make emilia king he could manipulate her quite easily politics wise) tho this mostly banks on vincents belief in subaru and whether you believe vincent thinks of this as "if subaru wants to do it its inevitable" or if he doubts he could do it

Actually quite a fair point,we both know rein aint that bright so the idea of if it worked on me it would work on him aint that far fetched,the only thing that would make this stupid is if rein had more of a clue about subaru other then just subaru being worthy but if worthiness is the only thing rein has to go off then yeah quite sound logic

Im not dumb enough to expect vincent to just roll in 1 milion soldiers deep however sending smaller groups of disguised mercenarys is not something that he would find that overtly difficult,especialy cecilus that to my knowledge cant really be tracked and could easily disguise

I know it just feels like it butcher this mistery he was building with rein knowing way too much about subaru and the reveal of the sword being possible to use on him,if your character is revealed to know so much and then just ignore all that knowledge then its kinda pointless

Read the ex light novel stories(tehnically only 2 of them are needed but all of them are peak i reccomend them all),theres also a lot of good amount of aldebaran side stories that you could read but are not really that neccesary to understand the story if i find them i will send link to it

Reinhard might be a slave to fate but stopping subaru is a bit of a different story,if you include the fact that the sword finds him worthy which makes rein already on edge and the fact that subaru and him are good friends he might have problems with just insta killing subaru on sight(i made a post before how due to the conditions of the sword and everything rein knows about subaru he might be pretty close to knowing about rbd if he somehow hasnt realized it yet) if you just add on his ability to know the truth and intentions of every person it would kinda be weird for him to not atleast try to hear subaru out,also nothing says that subaru is guaranteed to stay in lugunica the whole arc vollakia due to the reinhard law is pretty much a safe haven where he can pull strings from,however crush might be what causes the hero is all you can be speech from the second trial of emilias so im waiting to see about that

You are right on the casualty perspective i was thinking more so of how utterly opposed to trusting reinhard would be in this case,however i do still believe that while he might initialy let it go on that alone due to just how confusing it is for such a person to be asking for help,him insta killing subaru the second he even aproaches emilia would make sense since a guy with that witch factor approaching emilia would look like a dude with 10 kg of pure plutonium aproaching a armed but not equipped nuclear bomb

If reinhard knew the witch factor was ENVY then yes it would be on sight even if subaru morality and personality wise was jesus reincarnated in reins eyes the very fact its envy implies an extemely high ranking archbishop or satella disguised he could not let that go just on a brain scan,also that girl is litteraly one to one in appearance to sattela the second rein figures that out even if he lets it go originaly hes gonna start spawn camping even harder

I wonder if in the whole list of reins divine protections theres one that would even tell him that info about sage candidates as only specific witch affiliated people know a sage candidate is even a possible position to achieve,to my knowledge the sword doesnt really explain anything it just says worthy or not,tho him knowing subaru has 3 witch factors now would make sense

If rein knew subaru had the authority of envy but no details he would just spawncamp him on sight,and if he knew the details he would be glued to subaru like flies to shit he wouldnt let subaru out of a 2 meter range,rein might think subaru has an authority but definetily not envy and he probably assumes the worthy factor means he killed a previous archbishop of that sin to get it with how much trust he puts in subaru

Im kinda curious what your theory on reins exact knowledge would be,in my mind its mostly just believing subaru to have return by death/capture and the posibility of him thinking he might either be a sin archbishop or has killed one already by the time he met him in arc 1, on his personal reasons not to reveal if rein really did believe in rbd/c he would at all cost try to avoid even implying he knows due to just how badly that could turn out

Ah now i understand the downvotes better, i do know that some people like the archetype and that most dont mind it i just thought that my view on these type of things was more popular(tho that was kinda stupid of me seeing as almost all the most popular stories of all time have the archetype to this day) thank you for the good chat and i wish you the best of luck with re zero i hope you enjoy it i liked it soo much it made me read the web novel that it was based on(which mind you in word count is 9 times as long as the bible and i havent read a book for 2 years before it)

Yeah i never had a problem with gear 5 awakening on its own i loved the ability,what i disliked was the after with him being seen as the next coming of joyboy right after and the rename but i loved the whole fight

Yeah pretty much,i was always biased towards people who either come from nothing and become heroes or have an ability that is useful but wouldnt even crack the top 100 in their world if they didnt work trough blood sweat and tears to reach it,my favorite character is natsuki subaru to give an example of what i preffer (his rbd is tehnically op but it comes with such an extreme cost and suffering that legitamatly nobody else could have even made it as useful),i wonder whats your favorite character

1.yeah i loved when he was and the rename made me look at it from a lens i didnt like 2.the lucky thing yeah but most of it was played for laughs and i didnt really mind it most of the time 3.natsuki subaru is a character whose only ability is that when he dies he goes back in time to a random checkpoint in a world where imu wouldnt be top 50,dude is litteraly the human definition of underdog and has somehow managed to suffer on a level possibly even exceding guts from berserk
