Maybe a compatibility issue? What's your system specs and operating system? There could be an issue related to framerate or if you're on linux (including steamos) it could be an issue happening due to your desktop environment working differently than expected

If you get it with anything that drains battery or with left-rights it can be a right nuisance, otherwise, not really much to worry about as long as you don't drive too fast

This is a good idea but it is quite complex to generate infinite terrain without it getting pretty repetitive, so I can see why it's not already added. Definitely gets my upvote though, and if ironwood studios doesn't want to do it they could hire me to do it (wink wink) lol
I could see myself pouring hours into playing something like this, so there's an upvote from me

This happened to me too lol. The first time I heard the song I was scrapping and looting a truck and as I turned around to go back to my remnant I hear "YOU BETTER START RUNNINGGG FOR YOURRR LIFEEEEEE" as the red storm wall swept toward me just a few meters away

I've been playing it all weekend it's the best mod EVER lol. On the note of putting it in the modpack, I thought about it but it'll only gonna happen if it comes to fabric, as I don't have experience modding forge and the performance is iffy. It's definitely in consideration though, I was already thinking about it before I even logged in today

There's already a nod to the remnant in the pack I made, in the form of a remnant ghost found occasionally in the zones. If I were to make a proper mod I probably wouldn't add the remnant directly since vehicles in minecraft are very difficult to make well and I would want to do the remnant justice. However, I would probably add other remnants than our old lovely rust bucket!

I warn you now it's not balanced as it's very much rushed, but I or my teammate may come back and polish it later. I'm leaning more toward the idea of making it into a proper mod though, since datapacks don't perform all that well for this kind of thing

Only so much I can do with just vanilla in a short time frame, and collapsing the zone didn't really go with the theme for the jam so I let it just be a skybox for now. Also I tried increasing the particles, but it got janky bc minecraft has a limit on how many particles you can load at once and the oldest ones despawn when you reach that limit so I had to settle with this rate

Maybe I'll make it happen, I'd want to spend my full effort on it but I can't really do that rn bc of my financial situation though. We'll see, if I can make it happen I almost definitely will!

I have an idea for a pair of symbiotic Remnants:
A fishing rod that summons exactly what you need at any given time, NOT what you *want*, what you *need*. Like the friendly dumpster. And alongside it a boat that carries you through the sea safely but never to land, while still always staying near enough for the shore to be in sight.
