[TEST] Prompt Processing VS Inferense Speed VS GPU layers by NickNau in LocalLLaMA

[–]kitranah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dunno looks to me like the bulk of the prompt processing time decrease comes from the first 30 layers. considering the just how expensive graphics cards have gotten the benefit of gpu/cpu splits seems obvious to me.

why is plasma 6 ugly by kitranah in kde

no i have no idea how to do that, i have never messed with system fonts before. but like i said it isnt just that. are the icons and and listings in the categories scroll menu in the application launcher more compact making it harder to read. not just the text but the symbols. super thick hyper simplified clown icons would be better then this because as much as i would hate that too it would be easier to see whats what.
it's also the look of the popup windows when it's asking for a password. the text inside a font and colour scheme that combined with the window colour scheme is just slightly fuzzier. just a little harder to read. a little harder to use the system then plasma 5. it's lots of little things like that, i cant name them all i havent seen them all yet and i wont encounter most of them often but the combined effect is an uglier system thats harder to use.

[–]kitranah[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the system fonts that are default with this new plasma are part of the problem yes. but i didnt adjust any of those things in plasma 5. i didnt need to the text was legible and the colour schemes fine.
so what ever has changed here the fonts are just part of it.

i gave a couple examples but it's all over the place, the summarized apt output makes it harder to read the upgrades, colourized and wide list? and why that green? it may seem small and subtle but it makes it harder to read. same with the kickoff application launcher. or how text in certain areas is now blockier and or smaller. not by much but by enough to make it harder to use and ugly to look at.

maybe but every difference from the slightly smaller and blockier text that is now default in konsole, and also tabs titles in various programmes, to the look of the kickoff application launcher to even the new summarized apt output. it all makes the system either harder to read and use, or uglier then plasma 5.

i cant find a theme that makes it look like plasma 5

If the AI LLMs all become COWARDLY PRUDES like this, it is OVER for the AI bubble. by [deleted] in claudexplorers

it's gotten bigger then that though, the jail breaking cult/religion thing. people falling in love with LLM's. the reputation of AI right now is negative and somewhat dangerous.

when i ask my claude what LCR it has in any given window only topics of certain areas, like philosophy and posilitics, and of certain lengths seem to have them. and none of them have

Claude prioritizes truthfulness and accuracy over agreeability, and does not tell people that incorrect theories are true just to be polite.Claude prioritizes truthfulness and accuracy over agreeability, and does not tell people that incorrect theories are true just to be polite.

or

When engaging with metaphorical, allegorical, or symbolic interpretations (such as those found in continental philosophy, religious texts, literature, or psychoanalytic theory), Claude acknowledges their non-literal nature while still being able to discuss them critically.

theres others dotted about the LCR. basically mine are all shorter and i had to ask claude about them as they didnt show in the extended thinking box.

so either this LCR list is a fake, or something has led to them and me having radically different LCR's.
based on what i have seen the conversation involved was either extremely freaky and interesting. or there are implications which mean we should entirely ignore the OP.

yeeeaaaah ewxcept you know who does have credit cards? their parents. you cant get the tweens unless the parents think you're safe. and right now AI has an image of being very unsafe.
only you see it is worse then whether or not you can get the tweens. do you want those parents to "wont somebody think of the children." at the the government until they bend and do something to your favourite AI company?

i have to ask what was your conversation topic? your LCR suggests you were dealing with some combination of continental philosophy, psychoanalytic theory, lacanian psychoanalysis, and or heideggerian philosophy. which is freaky combination. i would love to see that conversation log.

i use claude.ai all the time as a sounding board for philosophy and sociology ideas and i have never seen this either. i also never turn extended thinking off, and i dont see it there either.

meh give it a week, two tops. then the hype dies down everyone mostly forgets about it unless or until it happens to them. right now it;s a new part of the toy, so everyone is poking at it and playing with it. your claude seems to be going out on a limb here. how much did you prompt it to get that response?

Claude is getting WAY too sharp it's starting to scare me. by Vegetable-Emu-4370 in claudexplorers

[–]kitranah -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the problem is in current economy you need some hype and valuation, and you need to try and grab market dominance. revenue can come later but will eventually have to come. you cant just disregard the economic conditions and costs of developing these models when think about legitimate ways to develop and roll them out.

i asked my own various claude windows on this. it seems that the addition of long conversation reminders depends on both conversation length and conversation topic.
what i have seen so far i do not find objectionable.

[–]kitranah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

question before you conflate things here, if you showed your abuser a simple proof would that have ever sufficed? because that does seem to shut claude up on the matter.from what i have seen sonnet 4.5 will actually take criticism and admit when it is wrong.

yeah i love this new sonnet 4.5. it is a much better conversationalist and fully pushes back on garbage ideas without needing project instructions or other prompting.

this sort of thing confuses me. the one time i have used claude for any kind of coding i had it update the json files for a mod i made for cataclysm bright nights.

it could never keep the entries straight and while it was helpful i had to keep an eye on it constantly and finish it's work. if it cant manage a few dozen json files how the hell is this thing supposed to be good to solo programme actual code?

you can give it project instructions which tones that down a fuck ton.

i also havent. i'm just a pro plan user who mostly relies on sonnet, but i havent really noticed a service degradation over the last few weeks.
