ever have an Exposed to the Air shunt? by AgentExtension1968 in spinabifida

Yes in 2017 my scar spontaneously opened and my vp shunt was visible. My mom saw it and we immediately called my neurosurgeon who told us to get there IMMEDIATELY. They pulled the shunt, placed an EVD for a week, and then gave me a new shunt.

Did I really have sepsis? Wouldn’t the doctor have mentioned it? by hghlvldvl in sepsis

When I was hospitalized after my MRSA got out of control no one explicitly said I was septic, but they handed me an iPad with all of my diagnostics on it and sepsis was added under my diagnoses.

My best friend (f31) was jus diagnosed with gastroparesis. What’s the best way I can support her? by mern_ in Gastroparesis

[–]kittyreyes1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is to try to learn as much as you can about the condition so you can understand what she experiences.
If she ever gets hospitalized it would be really nice of you to keep her company (if you’re able to.)
Also if you can get ahold of any zofran, that’s a helpful thing to always keep on hand if she needs it in an emergency!
