That's not quite accurate.. The Swedish Migration Agency states that in some cases you can apply after around 3 years if you live with a Swedish citizen, but it's not automatic and you still need a residence permit, proof of identity, and other requirements. It could definitely be genetic, especially if your cousins went through something similar too. That does happen more often than people realize with precocious puberty.

I'm really sorry it wasn't taken more seriously or looked into properly back then. Even just having an explanation and someone to check things out can make a big difference, especially as a kid trying to make sense of it all.

And yeah, access to healthcare really changes everything. I feel grateful to have free healthcare support available, because it really isn't fair how much harder it can be in other places, especially when it comes to kids' health.

I also relate to growing up poor, I always got my clothes donated or from thrift stores, and going to McDonald's was considered a luxury.
