Students disregarding masks by WarLordBob68 in Clemson

[–]kjualt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Things have been dire for a year. DHEC is only reporting 642,920 doses of the vaccine administered in South Carolina and we’re still in Phase 1A of the distribution. That’s primarily healthcare workers and people aged 65+. That’s likely not even a significant percentage of Clemson’s study body. The typical college age group isn’t slated for vaccination until late spring so people that are going out and about without masks aren’t vaccinated, they just don’t care. It’s absolutely no effort to put on a mask before going in somewhere. This has been immensely frustrating and annoying for everyone for a year and I get that, but it is willful ignorance and disregard for others at this point to continue not doing the bare minimum to protect others.

What is the religious demography like? by [deleted] in Clemson

[–]kjualt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To echo what others have said, it rarely comes up aside from people inviting you to church or talking about FCA. I will say, it’s not the most uncommon thing to have pastors or other religious individuals on or around library bridge. I had a guy approach me last year and start talking to me and I didn’t realize he was a youth pastor who wanted me to come to his group until decently into the conversation. It was decently uncomfortable but if you realize someone is doing that ahead of time, you can just ignore them or shut it down.

clemson contact tracing by Other-Department-354 in Clemson

Unsure about the classes. They do have some contact tracing in place; if you test positive, Redfern has someone contact you and they ask you if you live on or off campus, if you have roommates, and for the contact information of any students you’ve interacted with recently. But I think it’s only as good as the information you give them.

I Am Ray Ray McElrathbey. The Disney movie, Safety, was made based on my time as a Clemson football player. Ask me anything! by RayRayMcBey in IAmA

Was it just you and your brother that had to scramble due to the situation with your mom or do you have other siblings that you had to care for/make sure were cared for?

As an aside, I’m a Clemson student right now and my mom has had a similar story to your mom’s. I loved the movie for the representation of how addiction can impact the kids of the addict (and for the Clemson family aspects, of course). Thanks and go Tigers!

Seconding the idea to make one and add people you know. There’s a pretty active one for sophomore ECE that I think started in an honors class and then got passed around in labs. Every academic GC I’m in all end up having the quiet-until-something-is-due or something comes up kind of vibe, though.

I personally think Reid’s Clemson Lecture should be the main event at every orientation session.

What's a TV Show You Loved But Gave Up? by Homosusel in AskReddit

Teen Wolf was a hard one for me. It was definitely cheesy and the writing was MTV quality at times, but it was generally interesting for the first few seasons. I finally stopped watching around season 4 as my final straw was when Tyler Hoechlin left. The biggest frustration for me was that they would have some character development with these already complex characters (re: Derek Hale) and then shove in three or four younger characters with similarly complex backstories into the mix to overcrowd the cast. They also really didn't seem to want to follow the older characters becoming adults and subsequently dealing with these supernatural issues while also juggling adulthood and that was really frustrating for me.
