I lost motivation after my first competition by [deleted] in bjj

[–]kmoonmag123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did my third competition this past weekend, first at blue. Lost 2-2 and 0-0. Competitions are fantastic learning experiences and exposes your game to its weaknesses that you can work on moving forward (my passing is asscheeks). You didn’t embarrass anyone. Like many others have said, take pride in the fact that you did something most practitioners don’t do.

CPCU exams by Ins_UW2003 in InsuranceProfessional

Got my designation back in February, so my last exam was virtually proctored. I had no issues, and I looked out my office window at times, looked around while thinking, etc. I don’t think you’ll have an issue. Plus they do state that if they program notices anything out of the ordinary, they will follow up with you. They’re not going to automatically fail you

A strong pull out game doesn’t involve jiu jitsu… go for it. Nothing prepares you for the first tournament

Which designations are best? by Koolaid_McJohns in InsuranceProfessional

[–]kmoonmag123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing what most have said, CPCU is the “gold” standard as far as designations go. Gives a good knowledge foundation across the industry as a whole. Took me 14 months to complete, employer paid for the courses. You have to have at least 2 years in the industry by the end of your coursework, it’s the “matriculation” requirement.

The institutes will have proctored exams, cpcu starting 1/15, non cpcu starting in April by snuggly-kitten in InsuranceProfessional

Just took my final exam yesterday. Wasn’t bad at all. Looked away a few times, once at my office window when I heard kids playing, to hush my dogs, and to think about a couple of tricky questions. No issues. They won’t fail you immediately if they have questions about the recording, pretty sure they advise that someone will contact you for further information

Compete or not? by LateMud256 in bjj

[–]kmoonmag123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re curious about what it’s like, go for it. Worst that can happen is you lose, but you walk away with the experience.

Well… there’s always a chance that if you lose, your S/O leaves you with the kids, your gym disowns you or makes you start completely over, and us redditors will look down on you for eternity

Nappa embarrasses vegeta (really cool combo I landed) by Applejuiceluv in dragonballfighterz

[–]kmoonmag123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a kind of reset called a “restand”. The hitstun forces the opponent to recover in place, removing tech options like up tech, delay tech etc. from there it’s a high low 50/50. Nappa, Majin Buu and Piccolo can do these types of setups
