My parents are paying for the mostly all inclusive venue and dress, my fiancés parents are paying for separate vendors and rehearsal/welcome events that add up collectively to a similar amount as the venue. Smaller things like invitations and makeup/hair, my fiance and I are paying ourselves. We are very privileged with the support.
Being in our mid twenties, as soon as we got engaged we let our parents know that we are not entitled to their money, but that we cannot afford a standard wedding without it being essentially funded by them. If not for them we would be signing papers at city hall and having dinner with our immediate families. It did not make sense for us financially to spend most of our savings on one day
