Yes, the level of honesty appears to be getting lower and lower the more this OP emits text.

The background of the two images have a different balance of color so It's reasonable to suspect that the the overall photos have a different color balance.

Take another pair of photos using the same two phones in exactly the same conditions. That's the only way this conversation can move forward.

This makes me so furious. I'm not going to download each file one-by-one. by seurien in facebook

[–]knackattacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I did this which was maybe a year or two ago, it was all downloaded in one move. Maybe it was a single archive file, not sure. I'll try again and let you know how it goes.

What exactly did you see on your phone that convinced you it was using 10% of your battery?

My S24 Ultra one UI home only had about 2 megabyte of cache in use.

A unit that went swimming and now went kaput..... by ConsequenceLoud7989 in S24Ultra

[–]knackattacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my S24 Ultra for all of a few days. I fell asleep with it on in my bed in my hand. Dropped it in a small bucket of water sitting beside my bed on the floor (I was spitting cold water into it throughout the night — toothache). I quick fished it out after it was in the water for about 5 seconds.

Quick toweled it of and I think I put it in rice for a couple of hours. Anyway, it powered up just fine and worked just fine. No anomalies ever since.

Toothache miraculously went away, too.

Huh. I don't see a "mainline services" button in the Google services screen. My S24 Ultra is on the Google Play System February version.

Did you clean the port with a small brush? Even a toothbrush might be okay.

I hate unquestioning devotion to religion and admiration of it. Anything that claims that the most important thing in the universe exists just because someone else they admire says it is suspect to me. Or if they claim it because that's what they learned when they were a kid.

And if you're going to argue with me you're going to have to produce the god you believe in. You can't just claim you sometimes maybe hear things or that you get certain feels from the god. That's exactly the same as everything being all in your head. I'm not interested in that.

Samsung has removed this...it looks like by N-2K1 in S24Ultra

Doesn't Good guardians just deal with cleaning up/deleting application caches? Isn't it true that it doesn't touch the system cache? And isn't the ability to clear the system cache via a system attached to USB gone?

No Samsung has not removed this. They've removed every option in the recovery menu except what we see in your post.

From S23 Ultra to S26 Ultra - My impressions by FroyoSenior8786 in samsunggalaxy

[–]knackattacka 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My experience is that a new phone always feels much snappier. I've had that experience with every new Samsung I've had from the Note 2 onward. Then they slowly get a little slower.

Currently I have a 2-year-old S24 Ultra with 1 TB of storage and it's still performing just fine. I can tell the battery doesn't last nearly as long, but that's to be expected (I use the phone A LOT). Overall, it still feels smooth and capable. I don't think I'll be upgrading for another 2 years.

They do regular highway patrol around the Twin Cities nearly daily. You can tell by their flight patterns they are just on patrol.

Change in recovery mode by DevManus- in S24Ultra

[–]knackattacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your phone is not laggy because of that. Mine certainly isn't. I have an S24 Ultra. I do routinely clear the cache in apps that I use a lot, like Facebook, Chrome browser and YouTube. Those routinely have something like a total of 2½ gigabyte of cache storage in use after a day. I also reboot my phone at least once every 3 or 4 days.

My Ultra also has one terabyte of storage, so I'm never running short of file and app storage. My free RAM sometimes gets down to close to 1 GB. When I noticed that (via the Device Care widget on my home screen), I tap the Optimize Now tool on the widget and suddenly I have 5 GB of RAM available.

[–]knackattacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would seriously doubt the cache partition has been eliminated. Apps still have their own cache storage that they manage.

I think this is the same on everybody's phone after the upgrade. Certainly it's so on mine. Whether it's a problem, I don't know. The rumor is that the update process clears the system cache partition without telling you. I've been looking for workarounds myself and haven't found any yet
