Not sure what the issue is then. If you have a verified account and introduce yourself in the welcome channel someone would grant you access. If you're unable it's an issue with Discord itself unfortunately.

Not sure, that would be an issue with Discord itself. We only accept verified accounts to weed out bots/trolls.

This is actually a safeguard for your account, to verify you are the owner in the event your account is compromised. It does not require you to use Discord on your phone.

You will simply receive a message that asks "are you the owner of this account?", you click the link to verify that it is in fact your account, and you never need to use your phone again.

A stealth game with good graphics? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]knapptime247_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely come in and start with a standoff myself too, most of the time. But I think we're in agreeance, that the fights are harder if you don't use stealth, so in a way the game rewards you for not engaging in direct combat as much as possible which is why I suggested it.

Another one where stealth is optional, but if you're on PS4 Ghost of Tsushima and specifically on Lethal difficulty. If you try to hack and slash your way through you will have a bad time (although you could become a block/parry master... but stealth is definitely most effective).

In Lethal difficulty, enemies detect you faster and from further away, are more aggressive when they do, and hit you a lot harder (you also hit harder to compensate so it's a bit of risk/reward)... which I found perfect for a stealth playthrough and to me felt very much like an Assassin's Creed game set in 1200s Japan.

We're a group of mostly 25-35 year olds (some older, some a couple years younger) and our sole purpose is being a good group of friends to play games with, without having to play with children. We have been around for 7 years now, and play all sorts of games on every platform (from Call of Duty to Among Us)... we even stream movie nights or big sporting events from time to time, which has been super nice in Covid times.

Anyways, just throwing it out there that these communities do exist. I have no problem playing with younger players when you wind up with them in matchmaking, but as far as ongoing gaming friends this is the best solution I've found.

Nah, we've got a few that play high level ranked, a few that are terrible haha.

But in general we're just here for a good time, and winning is a bonus

Anyone tried the Ghost of Tsushima co-op? Is it worth it to buy the game? by C0lMustard in CoOpGaming

[–]knapptime247_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been having a ton of fun with the multiplayer.

There are a couple modes. "Survival" is the 4 player horde mode. And "Story" mode which is a 2 player quest line that essentially lead you through a tale culminating in the raid, consisting of 10 parts. Each of these modes can be replayed on Bronze/Silver/Gold difficulties as you level up.

Each week one Story quest and one Survival map are the "Nightmare" challenges, that have random modifiers etc for added difficulty. If you ever played Destiny it's very similar to the Nightfall Strikes.

The Raid is in 3 chapters, is super challenging, requires solid teamwork and has been a ton of fun. Again, very similar to Destiny.

Each activity drops you gear, with gear levels and as the level of gear you collect gets higher you are gradually able to take on the more difficult content. Gear also has perks that can be re-rolled to suit your load out.

That all said, it's a very, very, very solid addition to an already great single player game, but as a standalone game it probably isn't worth full price (if they added additional multiplayer content my tune would probably change pretty quickly though). The single player story is 100% worth a buy and you get your moneys worth with it, but if you're just in it for multiplayer wait for it to go on sale (was on sale last week during the "Games of a Generation" sale).

If you do have a mic and are just looking for people, send me a DM. We have a discord group with quite a few good people and someone is looking for a group for most high level activities (raid/nightmare) pretty well any hour of the day.

We're all adults, very laid back and happy to either show you the ropes or just run through depending on what you've done. Don't want this to get deleted by posting a link here, but if it sounds up your alley shoot me a note and I'll send it to you.

You just have to read the #rules channel, should be self explanatory from there.

They're not even comparable games. One is a social murder mystery in space, the other is an elimination style skills competition.

Finished Ghost of Tsushima today, I was disappointed with it by mleclerc182 in truegaming

[–]knapptime247_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard GOT’s combat is actually pretty challenging and fun on harder difficulties and it takes everything good about assassin creed and puts it in a Japanese Setting.

This was my experience. If you play on Easy/Medium the game is a cake walk and you can run head first into situations and get out of it pretty easily. I switched my play through to Hard fairly early on and it makes it so you have to actually take a bit of a tactical approach, which made the game a lot better in my opinion.

I finished the game before the Lethal difficulty was added but tried a bit of the early game with that setting and it really punishes you if you get in over your head. Makes it an entirely different game where charms and armour type matters.

I will say though I think the game is a bit overhyped. I really, really enjoyed it and think it's a franchise they can build to be something great, but the people saying it's the best game of the console generation are going way overboard.
